Massive roast dinner at lunch time today

Just made b & s , slice of bacon & fried egg all in the same pan.

It was delicious- don’t chuck out use the excess

Bubble and squeak is better than the actual dinner imo. Served with corned beef or home made ham and some pickles. Yum yum!

bobstersmum · 16/06/2019 20:22

Come on then tell me how I do it please!

babysharkah · 16/06/2019 20:23

I always cook extra so we can bubble and squeak, I prefer it to the meal

marvellousnightforamooncup · 16/06/2019 20:23

Not underrated by me. Boxing day bubble is the best meal of the year.

Get yourself to Borough Market. There’s a stall that specialises in it.. all served in a big bap. Heaven

Unless dinner is roast beef, it’s the best dinner of the week.

Boxing Day bubble & squeak beats Christmas’s dinner hands down.

DontCallMeShitley · 16/06/2019 20:34

Bubble & squeak with a fried egg on top and a jar of Branston on the side.

As long as it hasn't been messed up with onions.

NewYoiker · 16/06/2019 20:47

What is bubble and squeak? Confused

Gth1234 · 16/06/2019 22:23

basically fried mashed potato and cabbage/sprouts mix

Singlebutmarried · 16/06/2019 22:25

Bubble n squeak. Gammon (got or cold your choice) and a poached egg (or two)

TwitterQueen1 · 16/06/2019 22:29

B&S is left-over veg from a roast dinner, all fried up together with masses of butter and added black pepper.
Ideally it should include any or all of squidged up roasties, cabbage, sprouts, peas, carrots, gravy, bacon, fried egg.

You need to ensure it is crispy and brown as it's fried.

It bubbles and squeaks as it cooks - hence the name! Heaven Smile

My leftovers from a roast are made into Sunday Roast Soup - good competition for your bubble and squeak, but I like that too!
(Plus leftover new potatoes sliced and fried with onions and bacon, then made into an omelette with cheese added.....)
