What's the point of size 5 nappies?!

I just bought some size 5 nappies. As I opened them I read that 5+ are exactly the same size - just more absorbent.

So I just wasted money on less absorbent nappies?!
His nappies leak at night and I could have done with more absorbent ones.

Why would they intentionally make less absorbent nappies?!

Tesco nappies advertise as the same size but extra absorbent, but actually weight guild are bigger! I'm using 4 plus and dony see much different in terms of leaking tbh!

Yep he's 23lbs, or was at just under 5 months, off the charts big. Good farming stock. Massive babies seem to be the norm around these parts.
Size 5's certainly don't gape, in fact I have to give the back a bit of a stretch.
I have friends with 3 and 4 year olds in size 4/5.

Actually I might mean 26lbs. Very tired Hmm

BananasAreTheSourceOfEvil · 17/06/2019 00:56

I am pregnant with my fourth and thought the + meant a half size up!!

Also- nappies have blue lines now? Oh god it’s been so long since I did nappies I am in for a rude awakening!

With apologies for going off topic, the 98th centile for a 5 month old is just over 20lbs, so 26lbs would be not only off the charts, but by a mile. My 10 month old weighs that and is also off the charts. 26lbs is the average weight for a 24 month old.

😂 my 16lb one year old would look like a newborn next to your 5 month old then

DontBiteTheBoobThatFeedsYou · 17/06/2019 06:33

My 5 month old is over 25lb.

He's nearly 6 months old but not quite.
His brother was even bigger and at one point was not only off the chart but off the top of the red book.

He's a skinny 8 year old now.

Pic of my baby's fat thighs and the real reason he requires size 5 nappies... 🥰

He's about 23lbs, just turned 5 months. Size 12-18 month clothes. My back is buggered:
