Herpes

I got painful scabs internally when I was 17 that the doctor thought may be herpes. I have never had an occurrence but I am now mid thirties and been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend for the four months we have been together. Its constantly on my mind that I could pass it on to him even though I have had unprotected sex with my ex for ten years and he didn't have it visibly (I know it can be dormant). Just lately for the past few days my vagina has been itchy inside and I'm really afraid more than ever that I could pass this on to him. Because I havent had any issues since I was 17 I just forgot about it really.

Go to a Doctor, we can’t diagnose you!

Are you presenting any scabs or sores at the moment? If so then it would be possible to get swabbed and see if they are positive for the herpes virus.

Were you actually tested when you were 17 and received a positive result? And which type did they suspect? If you have hsv-1 genital herpes (caught from somebody with a cold sore) then it’s extremely unlikely to pass it on through sex.

Like 9.5/10 people have the herpes virus 🙄 By the age of 30 something it is very likely he has had it already. I'd really stop stressing, you probably have a case of mild thrush causing the itching. Go to see a doctor.

Why haven’t you gone to the doctors? Surely that’s the first thing you should do? I also don’t think you should be having unprotected sex with him whilst you are unsure if you have it, is he aware?
