To want to talk retirement? What are your plans?

We haven’t planned for retirement really. We are still youngish, but getting old! We are doing very well now, but worry for when we are old. How much do you think one would need monthly for retirement to live comfortable (in an owned house). So basically enough for food, bills, emergencies, to be able to take holiday once in a while or to shop if needed. For two people. I’ve never been a big spender, but do enjoy now not having to pay attention to what I’m spending at the store etc. I understand this will probably change in retirement and I’ll have to be careful. My parents planned very well for their retirement so were/are able to live very comfortable, spend as they like, travel a lot and still have extra savings each month! Unfortunately, my dh is not big on talking retirement! So I’m nervous.
