Period

Should I be embarrassed that my period started and I may have left a stain on dp's mattress BlushHe is not bothered in the slightest and only wanted to make sure I was ok but I still feel ashamed that at the age of 40 I didn't realise I had come on

Surely at the age of 40 you know the answer to this?

mollpop · 14/06/2019 20:27

It’s no big deal

FudgeBrownie2019 · 14/06/2019 20:29

The time to stop giving a shit about period anything was at least 20 years ago.

Women have periods, sometimes they leak, sometimes blood stains. Life goes on. The more we accept it and just shrug it off as a pain the arse the more quickly other women will realise they don't have to live up to this stain-free-white-jean bullshit peddled by sanitary-ware adverts.

MIdgebabe · 14/06/2019 20:32

Last time that happened to me, dh got some bi carb and cleaned it up.

Tryingtoocope · 14/06/2019 20:34

I guess as I was married before and I just accepted it because I cleaned everything I wasn't bothered. Now it seems a big deal, I'm putting my bodily functions on someone else. I recently had to come off depo injections due to health issues and I'm feeling a little out of my depth again

It happens, your DP knows that women have periods and sometimes it surprises you! A little bicarbonate of soda should get it out

CitadelsofScience · 14/06/2019 20:39

You're a woman, you have a uterus and periods and you bleed.

Seriously don't beat yourself up about this, feel ashamed or worry about what dp thinks. He sounds like a sound person though not caring.

These things happen so put it out if your head.
