Sitting in the hair dressers chair looking at yourself. Every imperfection and line and wrinkle for ages ?

PanteneProV · 13/06/2019 17:26

It’s the worst, isn’t it? No idea why but I always look ugliest in the hair dresser!

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 13/06/2019 17:28

I used to hate this, but then my eyesight deteriorated and once I take my glasses everything is a blur and I look flawless and perfect Grin.

IwantedtobeEmmaPeel · 13/06/2019 17:29

glasses OFF that should say.

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 13/06/2019 17:30

I hear ya. I take my glasses off too...

Ihopeyourcakeisshit · 13/06/2019 17:31

Oh God you are so right.
I remember the last time I had my hair done and I thought to myself why the feck are you spending all that money with a face like that.Confused

UtterlyUnimaginativeUsername · 13/06/2019 17:31

The heat of the drier makes my face red and puffy. I end up leaving with lovely swishy hair and a face that should have a paper bag over it.

CassianAndor · 13/06/2019 17:36

no - I find it's shop changing rooms that are the worst. There's something about the lighting that can't fail to make you look shit and wonder why you ever though you'd look good in that top or dress.

MeltedEggMum · 13/06/2019 17:42

I about cried trying on bras the other day. The lighting made me look like a swamp monster. Miraculously when I stepped out of the cubicle is looked normal again. Horrid.

Mummadeeze · 13/06/2019 17:44

I always put on fake tan before I go to the hairdresser as it does help a bit. I hate it too though and make sure I spend most of my time reading a magazine rather than having to look in the mirror

OutInTheCountry · 13/06/2019 17:48

The hairdressers isn't great but I'm still emotionally scarred after the changing rooms in TK Maxx last week. I believe this might have a lot to do with the demise of the high-street.

Crapplepie · 13/06/2019 17:49

Oh it's terrible!! Blush maybe there's a business idea there - hairdresser salon with no mirrors? Grin

MorondelaFrontera · 13/06/2019 17:52

Agree, but I'd rather that way round - imagine looking amazing at the hairdresser but slapped back with your real face as soon as you walk home!

I second the bras-trial. Especially a couple of weeks after giving birth, and be confronted by the full glory of your post-baby belly. If you don't start drinking after that, you can face anything in life!

Kiwiinkits · 13/06/2019 17:52

I raise your hairdresser with swimwear shop changing rooms

IntoValhalla · 13/06/2019 17:54

I’m convinced that salons have that same hideous lighting set up that they have in shop changing rooms that are just designed to make even someone as naturally beautiful as Grace Kelly look like a cave troll Hmm

My mum is a hairdresser and assures me that they don’t engage in such trickery, but I’m not convinced Hmm

Isthebigwomanhere · 13/06/2019 17:56

Honestly I couldn't even tell you what my hair looks like.
I'm to traumatised by my own reflection!

OP posts:
HollyBollyBooBoo · 13/06/2019 17:56

Awful, I truly hope I don't look that shit normally.

igotdemons · 13/06/2019 17:58

You’re not the only one OP.. I always smile in agreement when I see this pop up on Facebook! 🤣

Ladies just like yourselves, stuff what everyone else thinks(tbh nobody has noticed ), stop the selfies and stop liking and commenting on FB or WA photos and give everyone a break

Processedpea · 13/06/2019 18:04

I wear glasses too but what do fellow glasses wearers do when waiting for colour to develop etc ? I can't read anything even my phone without my glasses do end up looking at blurred pics in magazines ;(

MorondelaFrontera · 13/06/2019 18:04

Confused

you are on the wrong thread mate
We are talking about what WE think about OUR own face

happytobemrsg · 13/06/2019 18:04

Omg the lighting in my hairdressers is horrendous

RabbityMcRabbit · 13/06/2019 18:06

Oh God yes it's the worst! I have my hair done at home now by a mobile hairdresser -- much cheaper and no mirrors!!

tigerbear · 13/06/2019 18:08

😂 I’m reading this thread sitting at the hairdresser!! Going for a total restyle and colour 😬

PositiveVibez · 13/06/2019 18:08

🙄

Nobody is saying they don't like themselves. They're just saying they look ugly in hairdressers mirrors because the light is unflattering.

I agree will all pp's. I put extra make up on when going to the hairdresser's, but I still look pale and frumpy AF in the mirror.

2nd the Tkmaxx mirrors. I was trying something on and I thought I'm sure I'm not this fat and cellulitey at home 🤷‍♀️

Processedpea · 13/06/2019 18:10

That lizard is cute demon Grin
