I wouldn't but it's so tempting. Woman at work will not yawn without fucking yodelling, she yawns a lot and it's driving me fucking mad. I have a tennis ball here, can I use it?

chugmonkey · 13/06/2019 09:46

That's entirely unreasonable, I'm shocked. It must be a sock, as in 'put a sock in it!'

PutyourtoponTrevor · 13/06/2019 09:46

She's starting to sound like Tarzan

TreacherousPissFlap · 13/06/2019 09:49

We have one of those Hmm

When she's not yawning she's opining about how tired she is. Why she doesn't just go to bed early is beyond me

Bluerussian · 13/06/2019 09:51

Tell her not to! It is very bad manners. Would drive me up the wall, I'd have to say something. As well as telling her it's bad manners, suggest she sounds like she's in an old people's home.

dontlikebeards · 13/06/2019 09:53

I think we work in the same office. YANBU

Hahaha88 · 13/06/2019 09:55

TBF she might go to bed early. I have a condition which can cause chronic exhaustion, I can sleep all day and still feel tired when I wake. And yes I still work. And yawn at work. Though I don't yoddle when I do it!

PutyourtoponTrevor · 13/06/2019 09:57

We all yawn but I cover my mouth and do it normally, she never covers her mouth

OP posts:
Bluerussian · 13/06/2019 11:25

That's the point, Trevor, yawns should be covered and discreet. Basic manners.

Damntheman · 13/06/2019 11:48

Yikes. I yawn ALL the time, but at least I try to not it without noise and cover my mouth!

lady making the noise definitely needs a sock in it. That would drive me batty!

whothedaddy · 13/06/2019 11:50

you don't work with my mum do you? ha ha

Ilikeyourbeard · 13/06/2019 11:51

Anyone else start yawning reading this?

At my old job, my colleagues actually took a tally one day of how many times I yawned in an hour. It was a bit more than one a minute I think. I have Crohn’s and was exhausted.

Went part time in a different role as that one was killing me

recall · 13/06/2019 11:52

YANBU ...that would drive me insane ...I fucking hate it

Kaykay06 · 13/06/2019 12:00

I yawn loads and am usually knackered
But I don’t make a noise and I do cover my mouth although home alone now and I don’t think the cat minds if I don’t as I’m lying dozing before night shift

Morgan12 · 13/06/2019 12:21

Hahahahahaha she must know how ridiculous she sounds and how annoying she is being! I'd record it and play it for her.

Gatekeeper · 13/06/2019 12:22

get a water pistol and squirt her clacker next time she does it

Winterfellismyhome · 13/06/2019 12:23

This thread made me yawn

WoollyMollyMonkey · 13/06/2019 12:28

Say, good god that looks like the opening of the Mersey tunnel, next time she does it.

ScrambledSmegs · 13/06/2019 12:31

Ping pong balls better than tennis. More likely to go in, less likely to cause injury. Too big to be a choking risk.

When my DH sneezes loudly and aggressively we now all copy him and shout 'AH-TCHOO' right back at him. It's working, albeit slowly (lifelong habit).

foreverhanging · 13/06/2019 12:44

I like the water pistol idea 😁

You could try and throw smarties in there when she does it

SignedUpJust4This · 13/06/2019 13:15

Get an air horn and blast it every time she starts. Like training a pet. She'll learn.

quaverflavour · 13/06/2019 13:32

Haha this made me laugh and think of my DM! Don’t think she yodels when she yawns but when she sneezes, the “ooo” of achoo is always really drawn out and sung in a kind of opera style. In recent years it has become accompanied by a (sitting position) high kick. It’s funny but also deeply, deeply irritating.

Yesicancancan · 13/06/2019 13:33

I’d say something casually like I have no idea who keeps making Tarzan noises but it sounds riDICulous and I wish they’d desist. See what happens, worth a try.

Drogosnextwife · 13/06/2019 13:34

Anyone else start yawning reading this?

Yes by the third post I yawned haha.

PutyourtoponTrevor · 13/06/2019 13:34

How very witty Winterfellismyhome yet you still felt the need to comment?

OP posts:
