Walking along behind someone who is vaping is horrid

Peak vaping-in-the-street time - 5:30pm - have just walked behind or past at least 5 vaping people to reach train station. It’s so stinky. Yeuch.

Better than smoking and it’s helping people quit. Those big plumes can be annoying if they’re in your face though!

I can't bear it. Many flavours make me feel quite nauseous. I'd rather smell cigarette smoke, although obviously neither would be preferable.

I find the vaping "fog" is so pervasive; even, for example if I'm sitting behind a car at traffic lights and the driver is vaping, the smell seeps into my car.

It does all seem highly puritanical and interfering! I live, work, and walk around a lot in the centre of a densely-populated city, and I really can't remember the last time I encountered a waft of nicotine vapour. It's really not a problem! Just leave people alone.

YANBU it’s disgusting , just as bad when people are vaping in cars and you get stuck next to or behind them at lights they create a ridiculous amount of smoke .

Bagofworries last time I checked I don’t think the smell of coffee or mints caused lung cancer. Smells I can put up with to a point, it’s the fact that tobacco and vaping is actually bad for your health! I think it’s amazing as a way to give up smoking but that’s to then get off vaping too. I don’t think a lot of people are using it like that though...but that’s my opinion.

It's not ideal but 1 billion percent more pleasant than walking behind someone smoking a cigarette or a joint! 🤢

Not hard to spot the vapers on this thread.....as in real life.

Its not necessary to produce huge plumes of vapour (note: its not smoke)
The liquids have all different ranges, and some are designed to give out a 'cloud'

Mine just gives out a little puff, and its fag flavour, so that must please some people, I suppose.

I havent seen any conclusive evidence that vaping is bad for your health.
Our largest risk via inhalation has to be traffic, aeroplanes, diesel and petrol fumes.

I rather like the smell of fags, vapour, and joints and takeaways I'm afraid!

Crystal meth can be a bit overpowering

Most of the people on here are complaining that they find the smell from vaping offensive, so my original post still stands. I find some smells nauseating but I dont expect other people to curtail their preferences to suit me.

I think I prefer cigarette smoke, and that’s rank too.

I was sat on a bench at a horse show (big event, there were about a hundred benches, some occupied some not) and a girl and her mates sat on the other end and vaped constantly. The wind blew it straight into my face. I ended up moving, but I thought she was pretty ignorant (probably thought it was ok as it wasn’t a fag and “isn’t harmful”).

I love the smells. Much better than that from a cigarette and completely harmless to others. Good on them I say.

I don't 'expect' vapers to curtail their habit to suit me, either. But I'm allowed to express my dislike of it.....

Bagofworries that’s because they haven’t been around long enough but it doesn’t take a genius to work out pumping those toxins into a human body is not good. I don’t understand anyone who thinks it could ever be. As I’ve said, they’re good for helping quit smoking but then they should quit vaping too.
As a pp has said there’s no need for the massive clouds of crap they kick out.

Bagofworries I really don't like it, but I certainly don't expect others to curtail their preferences. I can't bear cucumber, but don't expect it to be banned (oh wait, I might rethink that...). It's my preference, and if I cam move away from someone vaping then I will. I do expect common courtesy from others though, and don't want people blowing vapour right into my face, which has happened several times.
