Walking along behind someone who is vaping is horrid

Peak vaping-in-the-street time - 5:30pm - have just walked behind or past at least 5 vaping people to reach train station. It’s so stinky. Yeuch.

It's as bad as cigarette smoke for me. Absolutely disgusting - do it at home where no-one else can smell your foul fruit stench.

I absolutely hate cigarette smoke, but it’s actually safer for me to encounter. I’ve got an anaphylactic fragrance allergy.

Thankfully where I live, this has not become a thing, but I have to travel soon for work and I’ll be traversing crowded sidewalks with my Epipens close by.

I will never understand why some fraction of the population insists on being absolutely inconsiderate jerks.

I dislike the huge plumes of sickly, synthetic smelling fog. I dislike the fact that vapers seem to have it welded to their hand at all times, like some kind of comfort dummy , but most of all I hate how it's become a 'scene'....how young kids and teenagers who have never even smoked are aspiring to take up vaping because it's now a cool thing to do with flavours and accessories etc.

I know two parents who have had to tackle this nonsense recently. It isn't cool, I'm glad vapers have kicked the smoking habit, good for them! That must be bloody hard, but let's be honest- it's still fucking obnoxious when brandished around like some sort of fashion accessory.

People sat in cars surrounded entirely by plumes of vape smoke too! It streaming out of windows at traffic lights. I just think 'dick'.

It’s awful. People smoke them more because it’s more accepted but you can guarantee in a few years a new health scare will come about that ‘strangely’ pumping your body full of a different type of toxin isn’t good for you!? No shit Sherlock! 🙄

I hate it too. I’d ban it and smoking too. And if people really think there won’t be some health impact to directly inhaling these particular chemicals we discover in twenty years then they’re much more optimistic (and naive) than me.

I started vaping 10 months ago having smoked for 26 years, only thing that's ever worked for me to give up!

To answer a question above yes there are various levels of smoke 50, 60 or 70% I smoke 50. My understanding is that the amount of smoke is supposed to relate to how many cigarettes you smoked per day.

I agree with the fact that a lot of vapers clutch their vape like a comfort blanket & have tried hard to stop myself doing this. I have also worked hard on rapidly reducing my nicotine level, I'm down to half of what I started on and want to be down to a third by the time I get to 12 months.

Alsohuman I’ve got no issue with people doing things that don’t affect me or my kids but blowing shite like that about does offend me. I’ll just going round spraying people with water 🤷🏼‍♀️ That won’t even harm them, intact it’s good for you so how can they possibly get annoyed.

People are allowed to dislike it, I find it gross and I don’t like the smells from them. I also have allergies which some of them set off.

I despise walking behind people who smell like they bathe in their perfume and have to deal with the smell lingering on my clothes.....

Yes the volume of smoke from vaping is ridiculous but I'd still much rather walk through that than past perfume bathers or actual smokers, but that's just my take.

We spend our lives breathing in substances and chemicals. Why only ban the tobacco and vaping ones?
Why not try to please everyone?
Why dont we all wash in unscented soap, wash our clothes in unscented soap, stop wearing perfumes or body sprays, cycle to work to reduce the smell of diesel and petrol fumes.
Stop the muck spreading on the fields, close all of the coffee shops, ban people from eating fast food in outside public spaces, ban people from chewing mints or gum when speaking to others, ban anything fragranced?
My daughter hates the smell of mints, I hate the smell of coffee. We have, until this point, tolerated it, never complained, but that's not the world we live in today is it?

OldUnit, I totally agree with you. It looks so unattractive to be sucking on a plastic contraption at any age, but to take this habit up without having a previous nicotine addiction seems barmy.

Sorry but we have the right to give our opinions on things we like and dislike!

I rather like the smell

10-15 years time I'm willing to bet we start seeing different but very aggressive forms of lung cancer from vaping.

Better than cig smoke, but still not nice to have a massive cloud in your face.

I don't get the massive clouds though. Even linking it to how many cigarettes you smoked doesn't make sense since I know of at least 3 work colleagues who used vaping to give up pretty hefty smoking habits and you wouldn't even know they were vaping they produce such a small amount of the vapour.

They all smell disgustingly sickly sweet. I don't like them but I do prefer them to smoke. But I also dislike strong perfume and the stench of cannabis which is everywhere these days wafting out of car windows and from every bench.

Hate it! But only because I usually end up craving what ever sweet treat there fug emulates.

How hard is it for people to have a tiny piece of consideration for others?

I dislike cigarette smoke, vape clouds, people who drown themselves in perfume or aftershave, people who insist on spraying perfume or deodorant in changing rooms etc.

I sound like a miserable git who hates people. I don't, I promise.
