to ask for your preferred Gatwick airport pick up recommendations?

Posting for traffic... flying into Gatwick later this month, and looking to get a taxi to take me to my hotel which is out in the countryside (around a 40 min drive, I think). I've priced up a few taxi companies for airport pick up but they all have dreadful ratings/reviews on Google. Any tried and trusted suggestions? Or would I be better to just call an Uber when I get through baggage claim? Public transport isn't really an option (too rural).

I second asking the hotel. I mean.. I do have a taxi firm that I use exclusively for Gatwick pickups buuuut they're based in my mum's home town which is 2 hours away so will potentially not be up for travel to somewhere else. The hotel should have recommendations!

Yes, ask the hotel, they may have a 'preferred supplier' or even operate their own airport pickup service if they're a naice country house hotel type place, rather than a travel tavern.

Personally I'd just walkout of the terminal and to the taxi rank.

If you're heading south from the airport (Crawley, East Grinstead, Haywards heath, Uckfield, etc) way, then I can give you the number for the taxi driver we use. He is amazing and always so professionally punctual!

Where are you headed to? You don’t need to give an exact location if you don’t want to but the county will give a good indiction.
If you are heading to West Sussex I can give the number of a decent reliable firm who we always use and the rough cost of the journey.

Gatwick is the Surrey West Sussex border so that doesn't help us help you with the cab firms. Most of them round here are not great to be honest. Chequers cars leaves from the airport so you can get one immediately but they are expensive, Uber don't turn up half the time. You are probably best getting a cab located around the hotel as opposed to the airport

I am on the coast not far from Worthing and they charged £45 earlier this year for a middle of the night pick up. Never have they failed to pick up and been on time.
