I saw this in Manchester Canal Street this afternoon. or those that don't know "boy love" is code for the sexual attraction of men to pubescent and adolescent boys.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/North_American_Man/Boy_Love_Association

I am SICKENED. Paedophiles have no place in the LGBT community. The fact that this is being displayed in broad day light. Equally disgusted and dismayed.

I got so angry I compiled a tweet.

twitter.com/makemorenoise1/status/1138511812155072513

I am bisexual and I feel like my community is being hijacked by fetishists. I just saw this by chance in town today and I am appalled. Gay rights have NOTHING to do with this shit. We are being tarred with this brush. NO!

LGBT rights have been hard won. I am dismayed by the failure of gay right organisations to address this growing problem. If this scandal breaks who will take the blame? LGBT folk want nothing to do with these monsters. It's time our leaders put our house in order.

OP posts:
Zoflorabore · 12/06/2019 02:10

I think there are blurred lines here.

How many times have you read a status on FB for example that mentions "going on a boys holiday" or "Friday night drinks with the girls" ?? Posted by a person in their 20's/30's/40's etc etc etc.
It clearly doesn't mean they're taking their 9year old son on a piss up to Magaluf or indeed their 9year old daughter to a bar to sink cocktails. It can be and is mostly an innocent way of saying male and female.

SleepAllDay7 · 12/06/2019 02:27

Are these pro-peado t-shirts too, OP?

www.spreadshirt.com/boy+love+t-shirts

The t-shirt in the OP appears to be made by Project Claude, who make a variety of apparel for gay men. I doubt they intend to convey a pro-paedophile message, nor do I think most consumers, or people just happening to see the shirt, would understand it as such.

Meccacos · 12/06/2019 02:28

The OP is right. This isn’t open to interpretation - this is what it means. Pedo’s have their own lobby group. In Australia they’ve influenced education policy and devised programs which were sold to parents and schools as anti-bullying curriculum but where there was heavy emphasis on sex (which was unnecessary and constituted grooming).

Parents in Australia were livid. The guy that thought up the policy was a pedo campaigner and some of his early lobbying work went into the public domain and it was absolutely sick.

This isn’t a tin-hat conspiracy theory - or an Alex Jones rant (I don’t even watch Alex Jones). The OP has a very legitimate concern. The only way to fight their agenda is to push back against all its forms because their sick agenda is permeating our society so insidiously, many of you are denying it’s even happening.

Octaviablake · 12/06/2019 06:22

Omg seriously? That's obviously not meant to be about paedophiles! Bloody hell!

toomuchtooold · 12/06/2019 06:23

Is it maybe not a ripoff of venerable club wear label BOY of London?

ClaryFray · 12/06/2019 06:27

Chill.

Wait for a response. I really doubt a brand is supporting pedophilia as it wouldn't make much business sense would it? Over reaction much.

Also don't tar fetishests with that brush either. It's not a fetish. It's an illness.

DaisiesAreOurSilver · 12/06/2019 06:29

Just joining the majority to tell you to stop over reacting, OP. Calm your tits.

TemporaryPermanent · 12/06/2019 06:45

I talk about chasing naughty boys for sex at the moment. I'm 50 and the ones I catch tend to be between 40 and 60.

I'd suggest doing some genuine community activity rather than policing t shirts.

restmysole · 12/06/2019 14:03

I find it really odd that people aren't seeing what the concern is here. I have referred to my sexual exploits as being "a naughty girl" and all the t shirts with "Boys Love Christmas" and the 50 year old pp who is chasing after 40 year old "naughty boys" all fine. But this t shirt is not fine because it means something else when used in that phrase. This isn't difficult, surely? It is all about context. The t shirt is not ok. And those spluttering over the OP should take some time to research the issues because there are issues to do with normalising and accepting paedophilia.

MQv2 · 12/06/2019 14:11

This is fucking brilliant 😂😂😂😂

Genuinely unbelievable that people think it's a pro paedo Illuminati t-shirt

BlueMerchant · 12/06/2019 14:14

I'd get down off my high horse....

pigsDOfly · 12/06/2019 14:23

No, with those colours and that phrase I would just assume it's aimed at the gay community.

Also, can anyone really imagine any shop putting openly pro paedophile T shirts in their shop window?

FloofenHoofen · 12/06/2019 14:25

I don't think it means what you think it means. Calm down.

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 12/06/2019 14:39

This seems to come from a similar mindset to the one which sees seedy old men in grubby raincoats hiding behind every tree and bush with a bag of sweeties!

toomanyleavesonthattree · 12/06/2019 14:56

I heard a programme about t-shirts for the far right. The t-shirts wouldn't mean anything to your average person on the street but other far right members would get the message.

So I am suspicious of t-shirts like that too, tbh

Itellpeopletogoogleit · 12/06/2019 14:58

If anything, it happens to be an unfortunate coincidence. Your outrage is ridiculous though. Accept you were wrong and move on!

restmysole · 12/06/2019 16:31

I think that once it hits your life, it all becomes more real. I think some of the mockers have no idea just how much of a problem there is in terms of numbers involved in paedophilia, and the total lack of moral compass.

titchy · 12/06/2019 16:42

20 years ago the naysayers on here would have been going 'Jimmy Savile's a lovely bloke. Look at all the charity and hospital work he does. You're just being mean because he's a celebrity'....

FishCanFly · 12/06/2019 16:49

Also, can anyone really imagine any shop putting openly pro paedophile T shirts in their shop window?
Maybe shops are just scoring cool points at playing inclusive.

Hedgehogblues · 12/06/2019 17:05

So much nonsense, so little time

The manufacturer's website says it for 'Boys who love Boys' and the models are apparently two adult males.

Who'd have thought it?

Nickpan · 12/06/2019 17:54

well I'll be, this page brings out another 3 or people who see the paedo message! Sums up internet forums a treat

FiddlesticksAkimbo · 12/06/2019 17:59

the models are apparently two adult males

Ahh, but that's what they want you to think.

Saucy99 · 12/06/2019 18:19

You have too much time on your hands....
