To think no caller id should be illegal

I don't get many but because of a difficult situation I'm in just now causing severe anxiety if I get a no id call it puts me through the roof.

Their only purpose is malignant, anyone else think it should be illegal to make them?

I work in a pharmacy, ours is a withheld number.

Its incredibly frustrating not being able to get a hold of customers when they won't answer withheld numbers.

Personally, I've never had a spam call from a withheld number. They mostly seem to come from fake "mobile" numbers.

Outlawing no caller IDs is a bit police state - ish imo. Sure, privacy is just an illusion.

But forcing people to reveal their identity/make it illegal to withhold their number (contact information) ? And to leave themselves open to be contacted by whoever they may have to call?

Not a fan.

It’s also a confidentiality thing with hospitals.

I don't agree that businesses should be able to withhold ID (although the less reputable ones just use a false number to hide the fact it's an overseas call centre for example).

But yes, individuals should be able to withhold.

I don't answer withheld numbers on my mobile. If they are a genuine caller they will leave a message. None ever do.

I used to work for the police, and would have the job of telling people their relative was in police custody or putting the arrested person through to make their call. Call can be made from specialist phone intercoms in cells etc thus number is always withheld. It caused lots of issues that some families phones wouldnt withheld numbers, or people wouldnt pick up
Very frustrating if your the one in custody and can only reach bt call minder!

Not something I can get excited about, to be honest. I can always put the phone down.
