... to be annoyed with people on Facebook telling me how good they are?

I have a few friends or rather acquaintances on Facebook, whose timelines are full of messages every day about how much they care about the environment / LBQT+ rights / mental health, etc, etc. These are all important issues, but because these people post on these issues multiple times a day, it doesn't seem as if they're raising awareness, but simply trying to tell the world how good and caring they are.

In my circle of friends, in my age range, I think most people have drastically reduced how much they post, so the nice news about people's lives (holidays, children, new jobs, etc) is declining, and these memes increasingly dominate my feed, which makes it worse.

AIBU to find these memes and posts annoying?

Unfollow or get off facebook?

No one uses it to post updates about their life any more.

Yep they are annoying , I tend to just unfollow those sort of people but still stay friends with them , I've found it better to really tailor what I see on Facebook so I only follow people I'm actually interested in

Very annoying! Facebook is a load of crap anyway. Classic example a friend of mine #blessed, #lovemy family etc etc. posted literally 30 mins after I left her crying about how much on an arsehole her boyfriend was. It’s a farce.
