Recommend me a Toastie maker

Bought one from Lidl last year but it's useless, the toasted sandwich comes out soggy, not crunchy like a proper toastie should be. Won't be using it too often so don't want to spend too much, preferably under £20.

So tell me which ones you use or would recommend.

Breville deep fill makes perfect toasties.

Yes Breville Deep Fill. I bought a cheap one from a supermarket before that and it was utter shite. You need a proper one. I've had mine about 4 years and it's still going strong and doesn't stick to the bread.

Came on to say Breville deep fill. The plates comeback out so they’re easy to clean (and you can put waffle plates in too...)

Lamentations · 10/06/2019 16:36

£25 on amazon at the moment, I paid more than that for mine. Definitely spend the extra fiver if you can afford to.

kierenthecommunity · 10/06/2019 16:39

I was going to say Breville too. I’ve had mine for about twenty years plus so they’re worth the money!

We've got this one VonShef3 in 1

It was actually a present for DD, but I use it much more than her (mainly the panini maker, as it's good for ham and cheese toasties). I really like that the plates are removable so they're easier to clean. Plus every so often DD makes us waffles Wink

Like the look of the Breville. Think I will get that.

Can you make paninis on it?

Anyone used there's to make omelettes or cake bites? Or anything else?

Breville deep fill here too! We have a separate panini press from our wedding list so we use that for paninis.

Ohhhh one of my favourite threads on here is a toastie thread. It’s in classics somewhere. And now I’m hungry!

I use a Breville, it's brilliant. I did see a fabulous Winnie the Pooh one on Twitter this morning though, that burns his face into your toasties.
