To ask when your DC started to sleep through

Probably been done a million times on here, but when did it happen for you?

As a baby I slept through from 6 weeks. My son is the same age now and I feel that we are so far away from that happening.

If he did start "sleeping through" at this age I'd probably panic and wake him up anyway! 🙈

My dd is 2years 3months and just had her 5th night in a row sleeping through.been a regular waker twice a night since born until we've moved her into a proper bed about 2 weeks ago and she seems to be settling! It's amazing how much different I feel even after 5 full night's sleep!!!

OfDragonsDeep · 10/06/2019 06:54

6 weeks, although we did a dream feed when we went to bed at 11ish.

Now pregnant with the 2nd, hoping for the same again!

IntoValhalla · 10/06/2019 06:54

DC1 - a handful of times around a year old. Then not consistently until 3. She’s just turned 4, and most nights she sleeps through.
DC2 - still waiting at 2 and a half. He’s slept through once in his life and that was only because he had an allergic reaction and was pumped full of antihistamines which made him really drowsy!

Thehop · 10/06/2019 06:54

My earliest sleep througher was 14 months. Still waiting for my youngest of 4 to do it. She’s 2.5

Passmethecrisps · 10/06/2019 06:54

Dc 1 was 6 weeks old
Dc 2 was 19 months old

Scottishgirl85 · 10/06/2019 06:56

Both of my girls slept through from 10 weeks old. That was 7pm-7am with dream feed at 10pm. Dropped the dream feed around 4 months old and both sleep 12-13 hours ever since. They're 4 and 1. We were very lucky!

Oysterbabe · 10/06/2019 06:58

DD was 2. DS is 18 months and still waiting.

Ithinkmycatisevil · 10/06/2019 06:59

DD1 9 weeks or so. DD2 3.5 years, she could spleen for England now though!

PostNotInHaste · 10/06/2019 07:00

8.5 weeks and 13 weeks as in 12 hours plus . But it all went pear shaped age 4 and again at 7 and we ended up with DD needing counselling for nightmares.

Jeshka07 · 10/06/2019 07:01

My DD has pretty consistently increasing her amount of time asleep from a few weeks until last night at 14 weeks she slept from around 7:30pm to 6 am! She had been waking at 3 for a few weeks now so I have been up since 3 watching her anyway!!

NellWilsonsWhiteHair · 10/06/2019 07:01

DC1 was 2.5, but thereafter (now 7) has been an incredibly consistent sleeper and only woken at night for very occasional nightmares and wet beds. I think night weaning was a necessary part of getting him to sleep through but it was some months after that that he actually managed it.

DC2 was going 6-8 hours within the first few weeks, but the wheels came off at 4 months and now (14 months) she’s not really close to even doing the 5 hour type of ‘sleeping through’, much less anything better than that. Night weaning is probably on the horizon at some point because I am flagging, but I’m also coping and naturally inclined to bedsharing, night feeding and waiting it out...

SoyDora · 10/06/2019 07:02

DD1 3.5 years.
DD2 15 months
DS is 5 months and has just started sleeping through.

cocomelon23 · 10/06/2019 07:02

My ds was 5 weeks.

JohnnyMcGrathSaysFuckOff · 10/06/2019 07:04

DD1 either 6 or 8 w

DD2 from about 7 mos

DS about last week and he is 16mos

YerAWizardHarry · 10/06/2019 07:04

Just before 5 consistently. Even now at 6.5 he still tries to get in my bed several times a week Envy but goes back to sleep himself without help

louise5754 · 10/06/2019 07:04

Mine are 7 and 9. I'll let you know 😂🙈

user1496959500 · 10/06/2019 07:06

At 7 months mine started doing 7-6. The months before that he was up for hours and hours at night!

DonnaDarko · 10/06/2019 07:10

From about 3 months, DS would do 6-7 hour stretches at a time. After starting nursery, at 6 months, he began regularly sleeping through from 8pm - 6am, except for if he is ill. He's about to turn 3 now and does 9pm -7am. Honestly can't get him to go to bed any earlier.

Booboosweet · 10/06/2019 07:12

Around 4.

notyourmummy · 10/06/2019 07:12

First child slept through at 8m, second child was just before 2nd birthday. I did nothing different, I tend to go with the theory they'll all get there in the end.

Stardustmoon · 10/06/2019 07:15

My ds is 2 and is still night waking every few hours. Ds2 on the other hand started sleeping through at 12 weeks so depends on child.

Ceara · 10/06/2019 07:15

6.5 years mokepon? Blimey. Mine was 4.5 years old before he slept through and I thought that was bad enough!

I remember reading in a book, before DS was born, that babies don't start to sleep through until around 6 months, and thinking "OMG however will I get through 6 months of broken sleep". If only!

mindutopia · 10/06/2019 07:17

3.5 years with my first and about 13 months with my 2nd, but that just means usually more nights than not. My now 6 year old still has nights when she wakes (rare but does happen). It’s quite normal for them to go through spells of waking as a toddler so I wouldn’t expect it anytime soon.

coffeeaddiction · 10/06/2019 07:21

Still not at 15 months , don't forget that when people say 'slept through the night ' it can mean very different things .
Sleeping 11pm-5am is very different to 7pm til 7am

Quellium · 10/06/2019 07:26

Child 1 - 13 months
Child 2 - about 8 years
Child 3 - 4 years and counting.
