I do have dd1 who's 19, but she's away with friends atm, and I'm looking after DGS. He's the easiest baby I've ever raised (dd1 still lives with us and is split from DGS dad so I coparent pretty much)

funinthesun19 · 10/06/2019 02:35

mumofwantwomany I know what you mean about Teleshopping Grin It relaxes me at night if I have it on. I used the like the game shows they used to show through the night where you texted/phoned in to play.

mumofwantwomany · 10/06/2019 02:36

funinthesun I love those! and also the casino ones. Snooker too - it's just nice to have some soothing background chatter

funinthesun19 · 10/06/2019 02:37

“The Great Big British Quiz” it was called. I think it was on ITV through the night. Loved it!

funinthesun19 · 10/06/2019 02:38

Yeah I know what you mean. I either like that or the radio.

mumofwantwomany · 10/06/2019 02:40

Radio is good too. I can't sleep in silence, I need tv or radio on - but not music, it has to be chat Grin

tunabakedpotato · 10/06/2019 02:47

Reasons why I'm awake;
DC1 has D&V
DC2 is full of the cold
DH has man flu
Worried that DM is showing signs of Alzheimer's / Dementia
DMIL has problems with her eyes and it's getting worse / could end up blind
DFIL has cancer
DA (dear aunt) has no kids and I've agreed for me to be her next of kin / guardian with POA and she needs me to spend time with her to understand her wishes.
I'm writing down everything that needs to be done for the rest of the month and realising that I'm a breaking point.

I’m seriously contemplating getting up and making a brew now. As predicted, about half an hour after I fell asleep from last time, the baby woke up again. Took a while to resettle but has been back asleep since 2 and yet here I am wide awake (well not actually as I feel shattered but unable to sleep)

He’s teething so we have had a few tough nights but usually I’m able to sleep between wake ups. Just worked out I have had had 2.5 hours sleep since coming to bed at 9 Sad

I am so so grateful that DH isn’t working tomorrow so he is going to do the school run and I will try and get some more sleep during the day while he has the baby.

Oysterbabe · 10/06/2019 02:50

Feeding baby.

SinkGirl · 10/06/2019 02:52

Yup. One twin with chicken pox, one potentially on the way, both of them wide awake. So bloody tired.

OneHanded · 10/06/2019 03:17

Hi Grin sorry you’re in pain; it’s the worst when trying to sleep. Also awake due to nerve pain in my paralysed arm but that’s my fault fit forgetting my gabapentin! Really hope the doctor can help you and you manage to get a little rest tonight Flowers

YouAreAWizardHarry · 10/06/2019 03:19

Night shift in Intensive Care. Biq squeeze to all you anxious and uncomfy people Brew

puppymouse · 10/06/2019 03:21

Me. Day 5 of hospital stay after emergency surgery. Moved wards with no notice last night and the upheaval has knocked me. Haven't slept a wink.

BBInGinDrinking · 10/06/2019 03:21

I'm awake too. A longterm non-sleeping DC has only just dropped off, and although I'm longterm sleep deprived I now need to wind down a bit before I can drop off too.

My need to wind down was not helped tonight by needing to pull a deceased badger off the road on our very late drive home. It had obviously only just happened, and whoever had hit it had lost a large part of their car's bumper. A DC got very upset that I was getting out of the car in the middle of nowhere in the pitch black, and took some reassuring that I was probably safer there than in the middle of a town or city, and that I wasn't going to get bitten or catch something from the badger either. Luckily I had some gloves in the car. Not a nice thing to have to do, but I couldn't leave the poor thing in the middle of the country lane to get smashed to smithereens or to cause an accident. It was as if it was asleep apart from blood from its nose. So sad to see such a beautiful creature taken down in its prime, probably by someone speeding.

Dreading the alarm going off in less than 4 hours now.

FrenchyQ · 10/06/2019 03:31

Woke having a hot flush, now can't sleep as DH is snoring

IAmAlwaysLikeThis · 10/06/2019 03:33

I'm awake, not in the UK, and on my way to work.

There's a dog in a bag opposite me on the train.

Justmuddlingalong · 10/06/2019 03:43

I'm up. Had a death in the family yesterday. I'm going in for an op today. Couldn't drop off, tossed and turned all night and then the bastard birds started tweeting. Looks like Monday's arrived. 😵

FerreroRocherAreAmazing · 10/06/2019 03:50

I'm awake as I have just had to being my DC to hospital with a acute asthma attack. Sorry justmuddlingalong to hear about the recent bereavement and big hugs sent your way. Good luck with your operation today. Hope some of you get some sleep also.

littlemissalwaystired · 10/06/2019 03:50

I'm awake, currently on my night shift break. One gorgeous baby safely born, now for some porridge as I'm starvingSmile

Orangelover · 10/06/2019 03:54

Another night shift worker here. Last one though been on all weekend Grin

Contemplating all the thinks i need to do when I get up today. Long life admin/maintenance jobs list Envy

WinkyWoo3 · 10/06/2019 04:04

Me. 14 month old baby has woken up 3 times since midnight aahhhhhhh. He’s ebf, so I’ve done every freaking night shift since birth. I’m so tired. He usually wakes up every 3 hours. I’ve got a toddler too. I miss sleeping 😭

WinkyWoo3 · 10/06/2019 04:06

Oh shit, just realised they’ll both be awake in 2 hours. I can’t do this much longer, my body won’t cope. I’m not having a 3rd baby, it’s exhausting!!!!

Bloodybridget · 10/06/2019 04:14

Well the cocodamol and Voltarol worked and gave me three hours sleep, woohoo! What a relief.

PurpleFlower1983 · 10/06/2019 04:26

Me - fed baby DD and now on here and feeling hungry Hmm

SavageBeauty73 · 10/06/2019 04:26

My puppy woke up to do a wee at 4. She's back fast asleep but I can't sleep. Insomniacs aren't great with puppies. I do love her though 🐶
