Aibu to feel so fat

Evening all

Not sure if aibu or not

After a week of heavy eating, i am feeling crap this evening. Mother of 2, 5ft 4, weighed today at 8st11 and just measured waist at 25inches. I haven't done any exercise since before my eldest was born, who is over 3 now.

Need some motivation to get my ass in gear and tips on how you all who keep slim do it

To all the posters laughing and mocking the op, she may have issues with her weight or her self esteem and your comments really won't be helping. Her feelings are just as valid as yours and even though her stats do not suggest that she is overweight, we all know how tied to our emotions our weight is. It's no wonder people are afraid to speak out about how they ate feeling with comments like these.

OP, I have done some PT sessions and classes over the last few months and they've really toned me up and helped me to feel more confident in myself. They are also fun (as well as hard work!) and I've met some lovely people through them. It can be tough with young kids and we lose sight of ourselves trying to do as good a job as we can. Be kind to yourself and if you are feeling low then please go and speak with your GP.

Sparklfairy · 09/06/2019 21:41

PPs are being unfair, in some cases out of jealousy I suspect.

I was feeling similar recently. I'm 5ft6 and dropped to 8.5stone after an illness. I got 'used' to this weight and when I crept back up to 9st I definitely 'felt fat'. I've changed jobs to one sitting at a desk all day so I'm not nearly as active, and I love my food. When you realise it's creeping up on you there is nothing wrong in putting things in place to stop things spiralling out of control.

Ignore the nasty posters OP, weight is a sore topic on here.

Himalayan pink salt flush.
Tastes absolutely vile, but by Christ it works.
Good place to start, cleans all the crap (literally!) out of you, and you can carry on from there.

Quintella · 09/06/2019 21:42

OP, if you do struggle with body image issue and eating disorders an AIBU thread like this won't help you.

user1471514421 · 09/06/2019 21:42

Pharlapwasthebest when do u fit this in and has it given you the desired results?

Oh come on OP. You have your stats which you've happily posted. You have access to Google and will not see anywhere relating this to being fat. You may well feel bloated after eating shit but moaning about being fat is pretty unthinking. I know I'm an average 14 which in your view would be 'fat. ' I've seen many posts on mumsnet from people having a genuine struggle with their weight, have a search. I feel this is a not so stealth boast which will likely have the effect of making some people feel pretty shit.

If you genuinely feel that you are fat (not just bloated or the bit of excess many mothers get!!) See your GP who can reassure you much more diplomaticly that those of us seeing an attention seeking post.....Cake

@user1471514421

ODFOD- not sure what this is
I’m not sure you want to know...

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/06/2019 21:42

So I cant struggle with weight just because my numbers are not the same as others?

But if your numbers say you are slim and your head tells you you are fat, the answer isn't the gym or diet, it's mental health.

Bananallama858 · 09/06/2019 21:42

I’m 5’3 and 10 stone... I wouldn’t say I’m fat

Stiffasaboard · 09/06/2019 21:43

Posting oh dear I’ve eaten loads of food that makes me bloat and I’m so out of my exercise habit- what can I do to change this mindset?

Fine

Posting your stats to get a reaction that is oh but OP you have a teeny waist I wish I was you etc etc is ridiculous and childish and suggests you have a problem you need to seek help for.

hellenbackagen · 09/06/2019 21:43

Yabu

You've made me feel like shit congrats if that's what you were hoping for

MadamMMA · 09/06/2019 21:44

I used to do Jillian Michaels dvds when my son was napping or just first thing when my kids watched, not ideal as they often try and climb on you 😁

SirGawain · 09/06/2019 21:46

Your BMI is 21, right in the centre of the healthy weight zone. You are not overweight. all you need for the future is to stick to a sensible balenced diet and some regular healthy exercise>

DreamsOfDownUnder · 09/06/2019 21:47

I'm shorter and weigh more!

badlyneedapedicure, selfishly this was about me and certainly not about making others feel bad. As I said already that was not my intention, at all

Ginger1982 · 09/06/2019 21:52

YABU. Your thread from last month would tend to suggest that you have a problem OP which measuring your hips and posting pretty perfect stats on here is not going to help you with.

Nomorechickens · 09/06/2019 21:53

Try the Fast Diet - read the book/website to get all fired up about it and do it for a few months. 800 calories a day for 2 days a week (for weight loss) or 1 day a week (for health benefits). It will help you get back into healthy eating patterns. And for exercise - pilates - do a beginner's class for a term then either carry on with a class or practise at home - it will tone your muscles and make you feel slimmer and fitter. Could you do a lunchtime class near work?

INeedAFlerken · 09/06/2019 21:56

IMO, it's either a flat out boast or you have an eating disorder if you truly think this is an appropriate weight concern to be moaning about. 123 pounds and a 25 inch waist is enviable for most.

user1471514421 · 09/06/2019 21:57

Thanks for that Nomorechickens

Check out the OPs Numbers she does not need a crash diet. To suggest that she does is grossly irresponsible.
