Both DD's have Android phones but they seem to regularly lose connectivity to our (excellent) internet. They say "signal strength strong" etc but can't connect and it can go on for hours!

This is driving DD's up the wall and I've Googled and tried to follow instructions but so many are complicated! ANY help would be so welcome!

What is it that's saying "signal strength strong"?

HennyPennyHorror · 09/06/2019 15:37

When I go into "network and internet" and "WiFi" it says Signal Strength Excellent"

I am typing this on my android tablet.
On the home screen touch the small cog in the top right corner.
Then touch "connections" and you will see what Wi-Fi it is connected to.

John it's not connected to anything...it won't connect, that's the problem. I can see our home internet there but it just keeps trying and not getting there.

Remove your home internet connection and set it up again.

Have you found the correct connection and put in the hub password Look in Settings Wireless and Networks Wi-Fi drop down menu to find your connection

We r a mix of apple and android in our house, my daughter with an iphone and ipad never has any issues, my husband is android but has a sony phone never has issues but i and my 2 boys all with samsungs regually have internet disconnecting and not wanting to reconnect

HennyPennyHorror · 10/06/2019 05:13

Pud Did that when we set the phones up. Would disconnecting and reconnecting work then?

I don't know what the cause of the problem is but I can confirm I've had two android phones do this (a Sony and a Samsung). Restarting the phone usually fixes it for a bit.

pudcat · 10/06/2019 08:58

Try restarting phone and if that doesn't work reconnect from scratch

Ive never had a problem and we have three android phones.

Turn everything off and turn it on again. I think theres a setting somewhere which asks if you want to switch between mobile data and wifi, turn that off.
