As I'm tired of hopping from hairdresser to hairdresser in the hope that I'll eventually find one who can cut Afro hair in to a decent style 😥 can it really be that hard?!

It may help if you say what area you live in. Good Luck! It’s hard enough finding one who can cut my thick and wavy hair, I can only imagine how difficult it is to find one who can cut more specialised hair!

I grew up in a town, that'd be an impossible task then and now. We used to travel to the city that I live in now. It's easier to find someone in a city. But i do mine myself anyways now

rammakeen · 08/06/2019 18:17

I'm tempted to do it myself but a bit scared. I'm in East Anglia.

What kind of style are you hoping for?

rammakeen · 08/06/2019 22:10

@ConcreteFarmer I'm not looking for any kind of style particularly. Just for my hair to be cut and not look like a 5 year old did it

I think you may want to take a trip up here to London - Hype is my go to.. That said, I’ve had my (relaxed) hair cut at European hairdressers quite a few times, and they’ve always done a great job.

rammakeen · 08/06/2019 22:22

Thanks @Hadjab - sadly can't take the trip to London just for a haircut as it's too expensive (and takes forever from where I live!). Will check it out in case I'm ever there though. My hair isn't relaxed but have heard the same

Dottysmum- Luton always had some really good salons for black hair.
There was one in high town which was excellent

Itsgettingbetter · 08/06/2019 23:12

In the past I've used a European salon for a cut. Try to get a recommendation from someone for one
