To wear a hair scarf? Was planning on wearing it over a half/full ponytail

I don’t really know what you mean but think you should wear whatever you want to wear. If you think it looks silly then it probably does

JoJoSM2 · 08/06/2019 15:10

It's more of a young look but why not.

Readytogogogo · 08/06/2019 15:11

No! Although I'm 34 too and beginning to wonder what stuff I might be too older for...

Didntwanttochangemyname · 08/06/2019 15:12

I'm getting really annoyed with all these stupid 'am I too old for' threads.

Why would you be too old? Are you so old that your arms are too weak to put the scarf on your head? Are you so old that you might actually turn to dust if you move too quickly?

Or are you worried you are too old because some stupid magazine article gave you the impression that anyone cares about your age?

mabelsgarden · 08/06/2019 15:12

What sort of hair scarf?

I am picturing this

Teddybear45 that was the look I was going for, wouldn't wear it around my head but styled in a way similar to the link you posted

Aprillygirl · 08/06/2019 15:18

Do you mean like a bandana? If so,I hope not because I'm 43 and love a bandana! It keeps my hair off my face and I couldn't give a fudge if people think I'm too old for it. Wear what you want OP

PinkGlitter123 · 08/06/2019 15:28

The style I am going for is in Teddys link PP x

Nice, but I guess I'm going to have to continue to look wrong then Grin

PinkGlitter123 · 08/06/2019 15:42

I'm sure you look great, confidence will pull any look off xx

Op, I’m 32 and have the scarf Teddy shared above. I think it’s lovely!

StCharlotte · 08/06/2019 15:52

My English teacher always wore one on a chignon. I was in the fifth form before I realised she actually had quite short hair and her "chignon" was more of a stump Grin I think it will look lovely on you, whatever age.

Aprillygirl · 08/06/2019 15:54

Aw thanks Pink x

popsuey · 08/06/2019 16:09

It'll look great. I was picturing the scarf equivalent of a JoJo Bow or something, if there is such a beast. I'm a strong believer in wearing what makes you happy anyway. I'm 45 and trying to bounce back from a trip to the hairdresser though where I was subjected to a mini-lecture on dos and don'ts for hairstyles, "in your age bracket".

MereDintofPandiculation · 08/06/2019 16:26

And people over 65 usually wear them! No, people over 65 can remember their grandmothers wearing them. Slight difference.

AppleKatie · 08/06/2019 16:28

There’s a woman at my work who wears one, she’s in her 30s tbh I’d say it was ageing not that she’s too old for it!

MotherofDinosaurs · 08/06/2019 20:55

You definitely need to wear whatever the fuck you like, regardless of your age. So many people these days wear dull, dreary, boring clothes. I'm 41 and dress quirky and super colourful. I've been stopped 5 times in the past 2 weeks by other women complimenting me on my style.

BeanoBrown · 08/06/2019 21:08

not too old, if you like it wear it, only wearing what we think other people will approve of is to deny our individuality and the world would be a boring place if we all looked the same.

oneforthepain · 08/06/2019 21:11

If it makes you happy, wear it.

WhiteRedRose · 08/06/2019 21:22

I wear mine up and over and always will. But I suit it. It's people who havent got the right head or face shape for them that look silly as they get older with them.
