... to boldly ask the total strangers of MN to plan my summer?

I work in education; I am in my thirties. I have no children or partner.

I would like to change my job in the future and leave teaching. I would like to meet someone to spend my life with. So what is my question?

This summer I have my usual six weeks off. At the moment I am doing one of those career/ goal programmes and one of the things is about getting out of your rut / asking bold requests from strangers. One of the things on there how it is hard to think of new things outside of what you know or have done already.

The usual people I might travel with are busy this summer, or I have already done things with them earlier this year.

I am up for going places on my own or meeting new people, including most travel. I like horse riding, history, nature, creative writing, biking, wild swimming. I hate heights and caving!

So, what could I do? Where could I go? Are there skills I should learn? I have money to do some things (week or so abroad) but not impulse buy of yacht sort of level.

Why not buy an interrail ticket?

Help out on a sailing trip, like the ones offered by the ocean youth trust, but maybe it's a bit of a busman's holiday?
I have done a couple of volunteering events with the youth hostels association and you meet all kinds of friendly outdoorsy folk.
Personally I would like to do one of those holidays on a cowboy ranch in Canada or USA. Grin

I would have helped if you hadn’t split your infinitive.
