Dressing gown Grin
So I have two lovely ones - one for literally putting on when I get out of the bath (hote style white one).
Then I have a big fluffy thing which I wear say when I get up and it’s cold over my pyjamas - or sling on over clothes of it’s chilly.

My dilemma is - I can’t dry my hair with either on - the fiddly hoods get in the way. I hate putting on clean pyjamas just for sitting and drying my hair, nor do I like getting dressed before hair is dry... I can never get a towel to stay wrapped round me when drying hair either. So WIBU to buy a little silky type one without a hood just for this purpose?

Yanbu, a silky dressing gown is one of life’s greatest pleasures. Every woman should experience the joy of slinking around her house in a silky dressing gown once and a while.

AphidEater · 08/06/2019 12:56

*once in a while, rather!

Happyspud · 08/06/2019 13:00

I was going to say YABU until I remembered I have a third and it’s a silky number. Does a totally different job.

AnneLovesGilbert · 08/06/2019 13:00

I’ve never had one with a hood!

YANBU. Get one. And then tell me what you get as I’d like one too Grin

Letthenamesbegin · 08/06/2019 13:03

I’ve never seen the point in the hoods (well if you’re older than 5), but it seems that most of the bathrobe style ones always have a hood attached - bloody annoying

Just noticed the typo in my original post - makes me sound like a pirate!

YANBU. In fact a little summery dressing gown is just what I need come to think of it. Where's a good place to find such a garment any ideas?

Merryoldgoat · 08/06/2019 13:23

This is a US site but they shop here and they are LOVELY and reasonably priced.

Balls. I’m gonna end up ordering a new one now.

Also, sizes are great - I’m a 22 and it fits wonderfully.

Try one hundred stars for fab dressing gowns

Letthenamesbegin · 08/06/2019 13:57

Those are lovely! Having said that - seeing the photos has reminded me that I do have a silky one knocking around some where - sadly it has “bride” written on the back in diamanté’s (present)

I have a huge red fleecy effort with a hood that I consider my winter/feeling down/got a cold dressing gown. And then I have a silky one - I got it from Asda, strangely enough, but it's gorgeous and I've had it for years. YANBU.

Aprillygirl · 08/06/2019 14:53

I'm just back from checking on Asda funny enough Bishop, and they have some nice ones on there. cheap as chips too!

SilverySurfer · 08/06/2019 15:48

For winter I have a big fluffy dressing gown with hood. If I pull the hood up I virtually disappear and look a bit like Nanook of the North or Eskimo Nell but it's so snuggly I don't care Grin

I also have a towelling robe and a silky one which I love in the summer.

StCharlotte · 08/06/2019 15:54

I have one with a hood. I look like a heavyweight boxer Sad

I also have a lovely lightweight one for wafting in.

mynameiscalypso · 08/06/2019 15:56

I am currently staying in my parents' holiday home (not actual home!) and I was putting something away in the wardrobe earlier and noticed they have three dressing gowns each here. Given they're only here for a couple of months a year, that seems excessive. Your potential three dressing gowns seem perfectly reasonable compared to that!

onemouseplace · 08/06/2019 16:01

I have a silk one which I pretty much only wear for those times I'm getting ready to go out and want to do my hair/ makeup/ finishing getting ready before I put my outfit on. I sometimes wear it to have breakfast on a summer's day as well.

It's the same one Nigella had a couple of seasons ago and it is perfect. It genuinely makes me feel like I have a more glamorous life.

onemouseplace · 08/06/2019 16:04

It's one of these map ones (I've got the Paris and I think Nigella had the Venice), but they have some other beautiful ones on their site as well.

Oh - just seen parrotfashionista has already mentioned them!

Redhanger · 08/06/2019 16:04

Doesn’t silky type material make you sweaty? It does me Angry

I have one dressing gown but would like a second for wet tones.
