More a wwyd but posting for traffic.

Just finished my degree (mature student) and now trying to find a job in the same field, which will be a massive career change for me. A friend of a friend gave me the email of the MD of a company that seems like a perfect fit so emailed him on Monday and he responded the next day saying he'd be happy to meet for an hour or so to discuss potential openings and to email his PA to arrange.

I did this on Tuesday and so far have heard nothing back. I was going to wait till next Tuesday before sending a follow up email but I don't know if I should even do that? If I do follow up should I just email the PA again, copy in the MD or email him directly? What's the proper etiquette here?? I don't want to piss anyone off but as this could be a big opportunity for me I don't want to let it slip either.

As you can probably tell I've little experience with this sort of thing, currently work in the trades where the only emails I've ever dealt with are from suppliers trying to identify parts lol.

Any input on what I should do would be great.

I would wait until Tuesday. She might be on leave, off sick, or just very busy.

Then if no reply, email the PA directly and just be breezy and friendly. I'd put something along the lines of,

"Good morning PA,

Hope you had a lovely weekend?

Just wanted to follow up my email, requesting an appointment with MD, that he asked I arrange with you.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Kind Regards,
Buccanarab."

Don’t copy the MD in but do follow up next week. The suggested wording above is perfect.
