Of course Barr isn't recusing himself from the Epstein sex case! He has to be able to 'control' things in case Scrotus gets tagged in it.

I'm not insinuating that Scrotus is a paedophile. That's such a serious crime that it's not something I'd tag even my worst enemy with without evidence. I think it'd be more likely that, IF Scrotus is 'involved' it'd be more likely that it would be 'what did he know and when did he know it' as far as business dealings and/or failure to report it if he did know. In fairness (AND UNVERIFIED), one of the hosts on The View said the other day that Scrotus actually kicked Epstein out and cancelled his Mar-a-Lago membership for hitting on another member's 14 year old daughter.

The key word bring "member". I bet any other girl would have been fine.
But members leaving for not being safe for their daughters is not good for business.

Apparently Barr is now refusing to recuse himself from the Epstein investigation....

And Trump has been interviewed and said he fell out with Epstein 15 years ago.
Convenient.

Ach. Well, disappointing but not surprising that Barr has recused his recusal.

Doesn't prove anything, but certainly does nothing to dampen suspicions that someone Barr answers to has things to hide WRT Epstein.

BTW, for avoidance of doubt, this was Barr yesterday (w video):

I'm being a dunce about US law here, but which bits would actually be illegal in Epstein's actions?

If he has raped someone of any age – had sex without their consent – then obviously that's illegal.

But given many states in the US permit marriage of girls under 16 and some have no lower limit at all, would Epstein having sex with a girl under 16 necessarily be legally rape? Does it depend on the which state it happened in?

(IIUC, if he'd had sex in the UK with a girl under 16 she would be deemed not able to consent and it would legally be rape.)
