Johnson has more than 50% chance of being PM...

Whether he'll win at a General Election is another matter.

Mind you, currently some Tory MPs really are hoping he's Trump, and are backing him in exactly the way Republicans do – ie they can't stand him but think he could get their party in at a GE.

Johnson would be different from 45... but yeah, blatantly heartless, unscrupulous, no policies other than personal self-advancement at any cost.

Campaign finance is supposed to be controlled, but where have things got to on the Brexit Party and its use of PayPal?

Can't remember, but think the Electoral Commission has just wagged its finger at the Brexit Party and said, "Tsk, do be careful with all those anonymous PayPal donations each of just under the amount where the donor ID would need to be verified."

The level of ease and anonymity afforded by PayPal is going to become a thing for all parties.

(Sorry, I know I should look that up properly, not just post from memory. But I'm too tired.)

One thing is for sure; it is unlikely that people in this country will need to worry about gangs of gun-toting thugs threatening members of the legislature in order to force through their own desires. Individual loonies, yes, but not in the same league as lionheart's link on the last page

Murdoch ...

edition.cnn.com/2019/06/24/media/new-york-post-col-allan-trump/index.html

New York (CNN) -- 'The New York Post's former top editor, a supporter of President Trump and an old lieutenant of Rupert Murdoch who returned to the conservative tabloid as an adviser in early 2019, ordered the removal of a story about writer Jean Carroll's sexual assault allegations against President Trump, two people familiar with the matter told CNN Business.

The Post's story about Carroll's sexual assault allegations was mysteriously scrubbed from the tabloid's website on Friday afternoon. The link to the story, which had been written by reporter Joe Tacopino, directed readers to a dead or 404 page.'

'The U.S. government has removed most of the children from a remote Border Patrol station in Texas following reports that more than 300 children were detained there, caring for each other with inadequate food, water and sanitation.

Just 30 children remained at the facility near El Paso Monday, said Rep. Veronica Escobar after her office was briefed on the situation by an official with Customs and Border Protection.'

My bolding added. This is an unfortunate and supremely silly tweet. Waters disagrees with the intelligence; we all know how many times Trump has done that. (Uncountable, actually.)

Maxine Waters has sided with Iran over the US intelligence community in blaming America for "provoking" the attack on our unmanned drone

She's a propaganda arm for Iran!

RT if anyone who sides with a rogue terrorist nation over our own should be removed from Congress!

Scoop: Trump, who soon heads to Japan for G20, has told confidants he’s thought about withdrawing from Japan defense treaty.

It’s part of his beef with one-sided deals that he thinks take advantage of US, I’m told.

But he hasn’t put steps in motion.

NEWS: Trump regards Japan’s repeated efforts to move a large US military base in Okinawa as a sort of land-grab, I’m told.

He has privately raised idea of seeking financial compensation from Japan before moving the US base from the valuable real estate.

'At her one-year anniversary celebration in May, Mrs. Trump acknowledged and thanked BE BEST’s first Ambassador, a representative with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). The First Lady also called upon other agencies across the Administration to appoint a BE BEST Ambassador and today, the office is proud to be working alongside 22 BE BEST Ambassadors, who will focus on resources and opportunities to help make a difference in the lives of children.'

Mm, not the first time Rupert Murdoch's publications have suppressed stories about Trump's sexual transgressions.

Here's another one reported back in March.

Fox News reportedly killed Stormy Daniels story to help Trump win
Diana Falzone ‘had obtained proof’ of alleged affair but was told: ‘Rupert wants Donald Trump to win. So just let it go’
www.theguardian.com/us-news/2019/mar/04/fox-news-stormy-daniels-rupert-murdoch-trump-win

Although to be fair, the Wall St Journal and Fox News are both still reporting the sexual assault allegation. It's allegedly Murdoch's lieutenant Col Allan who removed the New York Post story.

If President Tramp is going to take on Iran, it might be a good idea to know his Ayatollahs.

President Donald Trump in an announcement Monday said the US was imposing sanctions on Iran's Ayatollah Khomeini — who has been dead since 1989.
The sanctions in fact apply to Iran's current supreme leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

After the sanctions against Khamenei were announced, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said the Trump White House had "mental retardation."

Replacing SS Huckleberry will be Melania's current spokeswoman Stephanie Griffin.

Probably couldn't get anyone else to take the job.

I wonder how she'll manage the lying.

I'm sure she's already had to tell more than a few porkies on behalf of Mrs T, Lion. She'll just have to up her already existing game, that's all.

It will be interesting to see what price she has put on her immortal soul.

They seem to be running out of patsies. She's going to be replacing two people, and if Melania is to be believed will also be "working working for both sides of the @WhiteHouse", so that's three jobs in one person.

How many of the jobs a President normally fills has Trump still got standing vacant? last time I noticed anyone talking about it, there were a couple of hundred.

lionheart · 25/06/2019 22:05

Judge Sullivan does it again.

amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/06/25/politics/emoluments-lawsuit/index.html?__twitter_impression=true

Washington(CNN) -- 'A federal judge told US House and Senate Democrats they can begin collecting financial evidence this week about Donald Trump's businesses for a lawsuit.

Judge Emmet Sullivan, of the US District Court in Washington, denied an attempt by the Justice Department to stop the Democrats from collecting information from the Trump Organization and to appeal early court decisions in the lawsuit, which tests the constitutionality of Trump's business holdings while he serves as President.'

Here's an article on that Asking. And this is only the positions requiring Senate confirmation. There are many others unfilled that don't require it.
