I feel a very strong urge to try to get people to send toothbrushes for these children. Just that. Lots and lots and lots of toothbrushes, one per parcel, from hundreds of individuals in Europe, would be so good as a reminder that the world is watching and is disgusted by this regime and its behaviour.

Soap and toothpaste they might assume had drugs in them and refuse to allow into the country, but I don't think a toothbrush can really be seen as a security threat of any sort.

Do we have addresses for these hell-holes?

Thanks, lionheart; I was thinking more of a sort of shaming exercise, sending toothbrushes to "the manager" at the various camps and kennels and a message in with each one that it should be given to a child "because we hear that your country is too poor to afford toothbrushes for children". But it is good to have somewhere I can send a little money, too. Probably Comfort Cases, because it's closest to something I feel quite strongly about, making numbers in a book back into people again.

Oh. Curses. I found him, and the first tweet I saw says "Thanks to everyone for your amazing generosity! We have reached our goal! The campaign is now closed. If you were planning to donate, please donate instead to Annunciation House in El Paso or another organization that works with immigrants and asylum seekers."

Which is great because it means that a whole lot has been done, btu it doesn't let me off the hook...

Yes, he represents class based entitlement rather than wealth,
but the fakery, incompetence, dubious connections and questions about character are all there. Entertaining, though, so people might vote for him -- it's democracy as a reality show with endless spinning to see who wins the prize.

I'm not a Scottish Nationalist. I was not convinced that the SNP had made a good enough financial justification for independence. However, I'm disgusted with Brexit and Boris, and I know a lot of younger Scottish voters who were not convinced at the last independence vote that separation was advantageous have now changed their minds. There is also the Northern Irish border issue that still hasn't been solved.

A bomb has been dropped into the UK and it's hard to see any other outcome than the union being blown apart.
