enjoying comedy

I really enjoy the comedy of Bill Burr, I think a lot of what he says has a ring of truth to it. He can be a bit close to the mark but is very funny.

I showed a couple of clips to my friend and she was most offended! Do people get offended at stand up routines as easily as someone speaking seriously? Where is the line? I like family guy and south park too, as does DS, are they more acceptable because they are mainstream TV shows?

I've never been offended by comedy. Found plenty not to my taste or pretty shit but never offended.

I don't know Bill Burr but the thing with something like South Park is that it is so obviously satirical. It goes to uncomfortable places but without ever appearing to actually endorse them, and while it has some poor taste, it's a) directed at almost everyone rather than targeted and b) not overstepping the mark on things that are truly derogatory.
