To think these people are pro choice not pro life

I've heard a few people say that they are 'pro life' because they personally couldn't go through with an abortion but they don't judge others who have.

AIBU to say that these people are in fact pro choice then given that they do not judge other women for their choice to have an abortion?

It's not a potential life, it is a life. Once past the embryo stage anyway. Lots of lifeforms can't survive independently of other lifeforms. They're still alive. A bit of a non-sequitur, but that 'potential life' nonsense bugs me.

No, a foetus is a potential life rather than an actual one until it is born. Because there's a risk of it not being born alive even if that's what the woman wants: much-wanted pregnancies end in miscarriage or termination for medical reasons all the time.

And I'm glad to hear that some of the people who don't like the idea of abortion are willing to offer money and support to women who are considering ending a pregnancy for economic reasons. But it's still no one else's business whether a woman continues her pregnancy or ends it, because women are people and not the property of anyone else.

A foetus is alive. This fact is not negated just because at some point in the future it may die.

The thing is: the greater good, and the greater benefit to the greater number of people, comes from removing all restrictions on abortion so that each woman can decide the best course of action for herself.
When you restrict abortion, women suffer and die, either from unsafe abortions or because the pregnancy they wanted to end was too dangerous for them.
The tiny, tiny number of women who might want a late termination for reasons other than a medical emergency is a far better alternative to the much greater number of women who have died already because they couldn't access safe abortions.
