Just a bit of a straw poll. Would your workplace be happy about an employee taking and posting a picture of their (clothed) bum on social media during work time. On work premises in uniform...

Well are you? Or are you worried about being fired?

Likethebattle · 06/06/2019 00:53

Why, just why are you putting your arse on social media?

In a previous job, we weren't allowed to post anything at all taken on company premises, or in work uniform anywhere at all. Not that I would have, but it was policy. It depends on the industry I suppose?

But I've never once been tempted to post a photo of my arse in any context, so... Hmm

1vandal2 · 06/06/2019 01:07

Presumably no face or identifying features or logos were in the photo if not yabu. If there was it was inappropriate.

GreenEggsHamandChips · 06/06/2019 01:08

Thats what i thought. Its a private account (now) but the people on it all work nearby iyswim... only takes pissing off one person

Its under their own name social media profile. Following on from a shot of a recognisable part of the workplace. The shirt colour is unmissable and in the picture. They are wearing it in other shots

Are they trying to make a point that their work place is an arse

GreenEggsHamandChips · 06/06/2019 01:20

They're in a new job they generally seem to want to succeed in. But the are missing friends from their old work.... not that theyve ever posted anything like this before....

Oh god this sounds worse and worse doesnt it

Seems like a weird, pointless thing to do. I'd imagine most businesses wouldn't appreciate an employee taking and posting any kind of personal (non-job-required) photo while on the job. The nature of the photo only makes it worse.

GreenEggsHamandChips · 06/06/2019 06:23

Thank you @Squigglesworth what you've just said makes a lot of sense.
