To not want a night out, ever

I have a toddler and a job so I'm exhausted. I wake up exhausted and pass out at nine every night.

So why does everyone expect me to want to go out in the evenings? Why? Is it obligatory? Anybody else just want to be in bed by nine?

I'm supposed to be going out on Sat, have a babysitter and everything and I'm dreading it.

I much prefer staying in. I hate having a hangover, feel really awkward wearing make up and have nothing nice to wear. Being a single mum i can't afford the theatre, dinner etc and don't like being around couples much. But I force myself occasionally because otherwise my kids will become teenagers and I'll have no friends left. Don't mind a couple of quiet pints in my local. Definitely don't ever want a relationship again but friends always assume they need to hook me up with people.

Totally get you op. When you aren't getting any enjoyment out of the night out the next days pain and tiredness is unbearable and unnecessary. I just go out once every few months (or a couple of times a year if I can get away with it) mainly to keep up a social connection with people I like and know I'll want to spend more time with once the child is older and I always come back early.

absolutely. but i've never enjoyed going out drinking so I'm a bit of an anomaly i expect. I'm happiest at home, tv, nice food and knitting.

and bed by 9 is heaven (and essential when your child considers anything from 0430-0545 getting up time)
