To think we won’t have a warm summer this year

The weather has been rubbish apart from the odd nice day. When is it going to start warming up 😩😩

OP posts:
Oblomov19 · 02/06/2019 20:06

It's going to be boiling. Every year in the last 4 years it's been getting hotter and hotter.

And less rain. We have a water shortage. I know because Dh has worked for a water company for the last 5 years.

NCforthis2019 · 02/06/2019 20:08

What?! It was 26 today!

Ilikeyourbeard · 02/06/2019 20:11

I’m in central Scotland and it’s not as cold as normal here but still wet and windy!

DP is in his 4th week of working away in Birmingham and he has a tan as if he was abroad! Said it’s been scorching apart from last week when it rained a few days.

Oblomov19 · 02/06/2019 20:12

Was 28 in Surrey today. Been boiling in Dorset last week. Today has been boiling, burning sunshine, and muggy.

BarbedBloom · 02/06/2019 20:13

I don't really like the summer but at the moment here we have the worst of both worlds. It is really humid and uncomfortable but also grey and drizzly, so no one is happy Grin

ForalltheSaints · 02/06/2019 20:15

It is only June 2nd! Plenty of time for it to rain at Glastonbury, at Wimbledon (so Johanna Konta can make it to the second week), absolutely tip it down when the new Prime Minister takes office, spoil August holidays. Then once children return to school it will be sunny and in early October still achieve over 20C on a couple of days.

We don't need some supposedly pretty weather presenter to tell us that.

RottnestFerry · 02/06/2019 20:16

23°C here today and yesterday. Can't complain for early June.

Kummerspeck · 02/06/2019 20:17

The summer will be crap and, I'm sorry, it's all my fault Sad

When we had those few warm days, buoyed by memories of last summer, I rushed out and bought some new garden chairs. It will now pee down for the foreseeable future as a result Grin

ladylunchalot · 02/06/2019 20:17

You can tell it's almost summer here in Scotland as the rain is marginally warmer. Keep living in hope that we get a lovely summer like last year, not ready to admit defeat yet!

SinglePringle · 02/06/2019 20:20

I really hope it’s another scorcher like last year - bloody LOVE the heat and sunshine.

I’m sending love to the sun on a daily basis in the hope it’ll keep on coming.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 02/06/2019 20:23

Bloody hope not.

Water levels are low, last thing we need is a hot dry summer.

CloudRusting · 02/06/2019 20:26

27 here yesterday. I rang a friend in the North West last night and said how I’d been glad I to have my shorts available and she asked me what I was talking about as very different with her.

LaurieFairyCake · 02/06/2019 20:27

It's 28 degrees again in my bedroom

It's so bloody hot and muggy

Stuckforthefourthtime · 02/06/2019 20:28

Boiling here in London, I'm dreading another good one Sad. Climate change does suggest that on balance we'll be getting more unusually hot than unusually cool ones from now...

Candleglow7475 · 02/06/2019 20:29

Thick cloud, grey dismal skies and heavy rain in the NW all week.

DappledThings · 02/06/2019 20:29

To think we won’t have a warm summer this year

We can but hope. Although warm would be fine. For me that means 20. Hot, anything above 20 can sod off thanks.

Chottie · 02/06/2019 20:31

@singlepringle I love the sunshine, blue skies and heat too.

SunshineCake · 02/06/2019 20:34

I've been sunburnt two days running so hot here.

It's meteorological summer. It's started.

Alsohuman · 02/06/2019 20:36

It’s been gorgeous here in East Anglia for days.

NomDeQwerty · 02/06/2019 20:37

Gorgeous yesterday. Like autumn today.

Eliza9919 · 02/06/2019 20:37

It's been nice where I am for weeks.

We broke out the oscillating fans today.

Ivy44 · 02/06/2019 20:39

Muggy, humid and cloudy here in Manchester. Bit of rain today. I think we’re expecting a June heatwave though. Hope so, we’ve booked a couple of camping holidays.

grumpycatgrumpycat · 02/06/2019 20:43

I LOVE a hot summer normally (I’m a teacher, father has a pool, we live nearby) but the baby has decided that she’s too frustrated at not being able to walk to want do anything but be constantly in motion, carried on our hips but never stopping.

I’m tempted to temporarily relocate as far North as I can get.

pickletickled · 02/06/2019 20:46

currently 17 degree's and has been pissing down up here in the NE of England. It's windy too.
Pretty much the same forecast for all next week too GRRR!!
I would just like clear skies and sunshine. no rain and around 20 degrees - that's not too much to ask is it.

floraloctopus · 02/06/2019 20:47

We haven't had any summer where we live except for Easter.

That's because it's Spring.
