What could this be?

I’ve developed over the last few weeks a patch of extremely sensitive skin on my back just below my neck but further to the left.
There’s no visible sign of skin irritation or redness but it’s really sore to touch and feels a bit like sunburn.
It’s not sunburn, that part of my body hasn’t been exposed to any sun.
My clothes touching it make it feel sore like the feeling you get when a label rubs your skin, except there is no label rubbing it and even if I had a label in my top today the soreness is too far left.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Just to note it’s felt like this for at least a month now

No idea sorry. Go see your doctor?

Aberforthsgoat · 31/05/2019 23:35

Not sure what it could be but if it’s been a month I’d probably get it checked out

Could be shingles but you say there's no visible skin irritation which you would expect to see by now. Sounds like a trip to the doctor is in order.

I had this same thing a couple of years ago. It was close to my
right shoulder blade - but the exact same sensation you describe.
It lasted for about eight months, then finally went away.

It wasn't a dermal issue at all.
I think it was just a wonky nerve ending,

Do you recall having slept in an odd position a month or so ago?
Do you do any weight training?
Changed to a new/different bra?

It'll probably go away on its own (and still be annoying) but
if you're concerned, you should of course go to GP.

Other causes of Allodynia (which I'd discovered when I
Googled it myself a while back) could be:
Stress/Anxiety.
Shingles, before the rash appears.
Fibromyalgia.

Have you been stressed-out latey?
(Hahaha, who isn't, but ykwim...)

Hope yours goes away soon, too!
