Resorts without sun bed hoggers?

AIBU to ask if you know of any Spanish or Greek AI hotels that you don't have to get up at the crack of dawn to put a towel on a sun-bed?

One with a huge pool that isn't square. ( I don't like square onesBlush)

It doesn't necessarily have to be all inc.

Any budget really.

Does a place like this exist?

The ikos have opened a hotel in Kos as well but we haven't tried that one

6am is good going! We went to the canaries a few years ago, and I set the alarm for 3.30am so I could stumble out with the towels. Was only about 30 feet from the apartment, took a minute or so, and I’d say hello to at least 3 people doing the same!

Jesus that's scruffy behaviour.

OP out of sheer nosiness, what's your beef with square pools? Grin

I just remove other peoples stuff if no one is there. The sun loungers are for EVERYONE. If the are habitual offenders and look confrontational I move loungers to new location too.

I know its silly the beef with square pools. They just don't seem like a holiday to me. I remember in the 90s my sister and I pouring over holiday brochures and wowing at the cool shapes of the pools. It seemed exciting; exotic maybe.

Maybe it's because I swam competitively as a child.

It's not a deal breaker just a silly preference.

I remember my first holiday with my boyfriend about 7 years ago we had this (his choice of shit hotel). I wasn't having any of it by day 3 and just launches the towels to the side. I think the people were pretty embarrassed, they didn't ever say anything and I alway kind of moved them away if I could.

Just got back from the Taurito Princess in Gran Canaria. Would recommend, and it's the only hotel I've stayed at where we saw towels being removed from the sun beds where people had reserved them before 10am

I found one. The hotel albatros in cavtat Croatia

Plenty of sun beds but lots of umbrella and shade hoggers! They haven't even got them pitched!

I went to Turkey May half term, in a very nice hotel all inclusive.

Pool towels were provided so we gave the main pool guy a good tip at the beginning of the week and he sorted beds, parasols etc for the rest of the week in the same spot everyday, so no getting up at 5am!

Loads of people did this and it was win win for him and us, he was a lovely man and looked after us all week. They don't earn well so tips are important to them, and we tipped him again at the end of our holiday.

Turkey was amazing and relatively well priced to get there.

I would honestly pay more money for a hotel that enforced a sunbed policy. I heard about one where they play a certain song every so often and any sunbed unoccupied at the end of the song gets cleared (ie gives people enough time to get out of pool / toilet but no longer). Sounds ideal!
