To think comments DD and her friend overheard were bad not funny

DD and her friend were in a café today and on a table by them were a couple of young boys with their mums. While the mums were up at the counter ordering the boys were talking and conversation turned to "why do those girls have big boobs?" to which the other boy answered "so when they're older they can marry billionaires". They thought they were doing it quietly but in that way kids sometimes do, weren't. DD and her friend thought this was all very funny and told the story in a this was hilarious sort of way when they got back but part of me thinks I should say something to DD saying it wasn't really or AIBU?

How old are these kids?

DD and her friend are 16, I don't know how old the boys were but they said young boys and obviously quite young from what they were saying and how the girls described them.

Yep that's what I was thinking they would have to pick it up from somewhere and it's bound to be an adult who they know. I know there's nothing I can do about it but wasn't comfortable with DD and her friend finding it so funny..

I think it takes a while for the penny to drop and for girls to see the bigger picture. It's worth mentioning in passing that this wasn't funny but probably not overstating your case. Just a gentle drip feed to help her join the sexist dots maybe.

That's good advice, thanks. I think they probably wouldn't have reacted the same if it was boys their age but maybe part of them finding it funny was the age, which is why I wasn't wanting to overdo it but still think it's better to say something because it's still not great to think of it as funny IMO.
