clearsommespace · 01/06/2019 16:34

It's sod's law.

ListeningToTheBirds · 01/06/2019 17:12

It’s official- I’ll never ever make a fucking Pavlova again.
Intend to fill the 3rd one with paper stuck to the bottom.
Fuck it - too many hours of my life I’ll never get back

I’m going to put it to mumsnet to make the decision for me:
I’ve got a bolognese that’s already made that I could construct into a lasagne once the kids have gone to bed....or I can just get a chinese Blush
Pros and cons to both.
Pros:

  • Save money if we have lasagne.
  • Sheer Joy from the Chinese which is my pregnancy craving
Cons:
  • I can’t be arsed to make the lasagne
  • I can’t be arsed to go out and pick up the chinese, as I live in the arse end of nowhere, and not a single takeaway delivers here.
Bobbindobbin · 01/06/2019 17:17

Listening- turn it into Eton mess

howwudufeel · 01/06/2019 17:22

IntoValhalla · 01/06/2019 19:37

Starlight he didn’t need to be asked either Grin I’ve spent the day chasing 2 preschoolers round an adventure playground and getting kicked in the flange by DC3, so I’m knackered. He saw my face and picked up the phone to order it Grin He’s a goodun’

We are using up my brexit cupboard and freezer stash. Tonight was pasta with tomato, garlic and chill vegetable sauce with quorn “chicken”. Was very nice. The veggies were onion, pepper, sweet corn and green beans; basically what was in the freezer

Stillneedwillpower · 02/06/2019 01:37

Today was:

Roasted sea bass and sea bream with smoked garlic, red peppers and onions. Served with grilled asparagus, steamed broccoli and garlicky bean mash.

Tomorrow will be:

'Cowboy Beans' as mentioned by another poster. I've got some steak mince to use up, so I'll fry up the steak mince, some bacon, onion and garlic until golden, then add tomato puree, smoked paprika, haricot and cannellini beans, passata, bbq sauce, some spices and cook through. Not tried this before but sounds yummy! Served with corn on the cob and I might make some sourdough tortillas to go with it.

I'll also decide on the menu for next week tomorrow.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 03/06/2019 16:37

Butternut squash risotto and some roasted courgette

Dillyson · 03/06/2019 16:42

Grilled chicken, pesto rice and tomato salad.

It's my Ds's favourite, he started exams today.

Clubbercised · 03/06/2019 16:43

Glad to see people are still posting on here! I need to save this somewhere so that I can scroll back through it when I'm next meal planning.

Bolognese here tonight. More veg than meat, unbeknownst to the DCs mwahaha!

I dunno what we’re going to have tonight. Going to pop by the supermarket later and see what takes my fancy.

Chelsea26 · 03/06/2019 16:46

Quick lamb Biryani tonight - very excited as I am hungover and tired!

IHaveBrilloHair · 03/06/2019 16:54

We're having mie goreng, basically fried noodles, Indonesian style.

clearsommespace · 03/06/2019 16:54

We are having dhal or chili con carne with rice followed by as many defrosted frozen raspberries as we can eat.
DS didn't close the freezer door properly after grabbing an ice cream yesterday and all the above started to defrost.
Fortunately was just the little freezer above the fridge.

But tomorrow I am making chicken stroganoff which was an idea I got further up the thread.

I will also make a broccoli and salmon quiche for Wednesday.

Stravapalava · 03/06/2019 17:13

DH and DCs have macaroni cheese with added bacon and veg.

I have brought various things to work and not sure if I fancy any of them. I may get Korean takeaway instead.

WalkAwaySugarbear · 03/06/2019 17:19

(Non-BBQ) BBQ here, Cumberland sausage hot dogs and sweet chilli chicken thighs with salad.
Ice cream cones for dessert as the sun is out.

purplefig · 03/06/2019 17:20

Mushroom filo pastry pie with mash and spring greens.

IJumpedAboardAPirateShip · 03/06/2019 17:29

That sounds lush @purplefig

Lwmommy · 03/06/2019 17:37

Sausages, has brown fries and sweet corn
