Inspired by a thread in classics:

What about those appliances that you love? That have served you faithfully for many years without complaint? Or that are new and have changed your life?

Mine is a Clairol 1200 hairdryer from 1983 - older than multiple boyfriends, and far more faithful. Ok, so it doesn't work if you turn it off once it has heated up - so don't turn it off!

With an honourable mention to my Babyliss crimpers, which finally ended their days a month ago at age 30+, only because a cat knocked them off the counter and broke an iron.

My 'new' one is my new Babyliss crimpers - they are hot within a minute! And I love my Dyson pethair - so effective.

But my all-time fave? The toilet. Don;t know how I'd cope without that invention.

SMEG fridge freezer. It's a half and half one and I've had it for 20 years. No problems with it at all. Still love it as much as I did when I bought it. The good thing about it is because the front of it is plastic I can't hang any hideous magnets on the front of it so it always looks bright and shiny instead of cluttered. It's electric blue colour

Philips electric beater bought in Singapore in 1969. Worry every year when I make the Christmas cake, and have a standby mixed (never used), and the old faithful performs every time.

Also chest freezer bought in 1993.
