Forty something friend getting married soon. I really really hate all the hen BS, especially at my age. Printed t-shirts, themes, games etc. All of this sort of stuff is being arranged. Is it better to just suck it up or can I not dress in the theme?

I'm going to sounds like a cow now.

But if you dont dress the part most, if not all will talk about it behind your back.

Join the fun and suck it up. It's not your day its hers. Like bridesmaid dresses, might be to your taste but it's often not your choice I'm afraid :)

I hope you all have a lovely time x

Don't go if you know you're going to hate it.

I think its a case of suck it up or don't go, those are the two options.

Again, it's either fit in or bow out. Hate it too, it's so rubbish, though if I ever am lucky enough to (a) meet someone (b) marry them I will have a hen do (didn't first time) but I would choose arrangements and it will involve a tasting menu including wines (and not a t shirt nor tiara in sight!)

Oooh I'm gonna be controversial here...i recently received an email entitled hen do outfit admin 😣😣 I think you need to go along to a degree but think there is a balance of something really isnt for you.

What's the theme? If its 'wear black' then you're gonna stand out like a sore thumb but I've been to various fancy dress themed hens before and just did the bare minimum. I always wear the tshirt but I'm prone to accidentally leaving any sash I'm given in the loo!!
