kalinkafoxtrot45 · 26/05/2019 13:28

He plays the clown for a reason. He’s intelligent, amoral and conniving. Heaven help us if he becomes PM.

Grumpbum123 · 26/05/2019 13:29

Fuck no

Furrydogmum · 26/05/2019 13:40

Nope

Girlofgold · 26/05/2019 13:52

I think boris as pm would expediate Scottish independence. His persona is totally against the Scottish psyche

RockinHippy · 26/05/2019 13:59

Hell no🤢

But neither do I want any of the other options. It's a shambles

Snog · 26/05/2019 14:05

The USA has Trump, we will get Boris. It seems inevitable. I don't think he will last 5 mins though as he will totally f-ck things up and alienate colleague pretty quickly and then get bored.

Or maybe he will stay PM until he dies. I'm sure Trump is gonna wipe the floor with a second term.

You honestly couldn't make it up.

AhhhHereItGoes · 26/05/2019 14:07

Nope.
I know something is a bad idea when I think Gove might do a better job.

Sparklesocks · 26/05/2019 14:15

Hell...and I can’t say this enough...no

Bouledeneige · 26/05/2019 14:18

Oh God no.

Sparklesocks · 26/05/2019 14:19

You could ask Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe? Oh wait no you can’t, she’s still in prison

Onatreebyariver · 26/05/2019 14:20

Yes definitely. He seems to have more of a backbone than TM and hopefully will deliver the brexit that we (the majority) voted for in the referendum.

Mousetolioness · 26/05/2019 14:24

He may be intelligent by some standards but sadly it's not the sort of intelligence required to run a country. He isn't a man of the people type in any way. I can't relate to him and think only a very narrow tranche of the population would be able to - so he'd be a poor choice indeed.

steppemum · 26/05/2019 14:35

no, can't bear the thought of that awful man running the country.

Whatever you may think of Theresa May, at least she was not trying to further her own political career, she believed in what she was doing

Boris just wants whatever is best for Boris.

And I listened with horror yesterday as a commentator said that lots of Tories like Gove for what he did to education WHAT the man who screwed over all our schools?????

Fraxion · 26/05/2019 14:35

Hell no, I can't get the image of him dad dancing like a loon at a gig we were at.

steppemum · 26/05/2019 14:41

^ this exactly

Pa1oma · 26/05/2019 14:44

It’s like watching a slow car crash happening but being unable to do anything about it.

SilverySurfer · 26/05/2019 14:45

As a Tory voter this is what I think of the candidates:

Boris Johnson - absolutely not
Michael Gove - no - too much baggage
Matt Hancock - possible
Jeremy Hunt - probably not
Andrea Leadsom - no
Esther McVey - no - just no
Dominic Raab - definite possible
Rory Stewart - no
Sir Graham Brady - possible
Sajid Javid - maybe
Penny Mordaunt - no
Priti Patel - probably not
Liz Truss - probably not
Steve Baker - maybe

I'm intrigued that Jacob Rees Mogg is nowhere to be seen.

Orchidflower1 · 26/05/2019 14:45

@cardi what I mean by the trump thing is that both he and bj are outgoing, arrogant, men at the top of their game who think they know it all. I know trump is awful in so many ways but he’s not nuked anyone ( yet) which is what horrendous situation I thought he could have generated. I do think bj is brighter than trump as trump is openly manipulative.

EmbarassingQuestion · 26/05/2019 14:52

I did a teacher training course with a guy who was charismatic and funny and thought that meant he could get away with not learning any
of the actual content.

We had to plan and deliver training sessions to each other as part of the course, and at first it was fine as people warmed to him quickly and he was entertaining, but after a couple of days his laziness and incompetence were evident. It would be horrendous to have someone like this as PM. Boris is that person.

Daenerys77 · 26/05/2019 14:55

Definitely not. The one thing more dangerous than an actual idiot in charge is a clever and completely unprincipled man pretending to be an idiot.

EmbarassingQuestion · 26/05/2019 14:55

He plays the clown for a reason. He’s intelligent, amoral and conniving.

He's really not intelligent! Look at what he said about Nazanin Zaghari-Ratcliffe. Or hear him being challenged by any journalist on a serious point. If he can't make a joke to get out of having to answer something, he flounders. He's incompetent.

Pa1oma · 26/05/2019 14:59

There was a lady at yoga this week who was telling us that BJ is dating her niece. Let’s just say, this woman would make Melanie Trump look like a grandmother by age comparison,

Obviously, I can’t confirm this, but I really can’t imagine why she wouid make it up.

I notice he’s trying to speed his divorce through?

AnnaMagnani · 26/05/2019 14:59

What makes Dominic Raab, the man who was stunned to discover we were dependent on the port of Dover, possible?

ThePittts · 26/05/2019 15:02

No, definitely not !

bellabasset · 26/05/2019 15:19

No to Bojo. He has a high IQ, is academically brilliant and would be highly popular as a Professor where his eccentricities would be tolerated. Was it Amber Rudd who commented that he would be highly entertaining at a party but you wouldn't want him driving you home afterwards.

I don't think his temperament qualifies him as PM. I also think Rory Stewart might be the surprise choice here.

While I don't think Bojo's gaffe re Nazanin Zaghari Ratcliffe has had any affect on her detention I think it was a disgraceful failure by a Minister In his situation. We all now recognise that dual British Iranian citizens have little or no protection from the UK when in Iran.
