Clearly the negotiators had a much easier job than parents getting a teenager to get up and get ready to go out

Pre-agreement is key! "Tomorrow we are doing X, do you want to come?" if no they stay where they are. If yes "I'll be leaving at 9:30am, but downstairs by then if you still want to come". If not leave them in bed! I must stay if mine need to get up they will though but I don't cajole them, they know I'll go without them.
