does anyone have one and are they comfortable ?
I have back pain from my current chair.

I have seen one for £250 and cheaper one from eBay for £75 .

I enjoy them for a while but find sitting on it for extended periods uncomfortable as I am a fidgeter and find it difficult to adjust position even slightly on those.

Tried one, found it even more painful, got rid. Don't waste your money.

I worked at a company that had a lot of different seating for staff and I saw these in use - also standing desks. Without trying the various options I'm not sure how you can discover which is best for you - maybe there's somewhere that hires them out so you can try before you buy?

thanks ..yes dodgy buy if I haven't tried one. No where near me sells them .

they actually cause stress to the knees and hips. I wouldnt

StickyToffs · 24/05/2019 16:01

I've had one for 15 years. I used to get terrible backache at my desk, not since. At first your shins hurt and it's a bit weird but after a couple of weeks you'll be fine.

Get a good quality one with good padding on seat and shin bits.

I had one when I studied for my MBA. DH got it for me - he is a Physio and recommends these for lots of patients with back pain. I loved it - was thinking of getting another one. I only had a cheap one from Argos but it did the job.

You could try one and send it back if it doesn't work for you.

They made my knees hurt

Vulpine · 24/05/2019 16:42

What about one of those blow up ball things?

greenelephantscarf · 24/05/2019 16:48

the balls made my back hurt.

what helps me is a flexi desk (standing or sitting) and changing the height of the chair weekly

caughtinanet · 24/05/2019 16:54

How could you be unreasonable to want to get a chair that might make your life more comfortable?

MitziK · 24/05/2019 17:05

I think they are great - either one of those or the office chair that looks more like a saddle (I have one of those at work and I kindly lend it to teenagers complaining of back pain because they fucking slouch all the time when they've got to sit down for extended periods).

I'm 5'6" with stumpy legs and a long body - it might make a difference, as I think long legs might be a bit trickier to fit in.
