Posting here for traffic as worried and don't want my post to be missed...

I'm 38 weeks pregnant I had midwife today and baby is measuring at 36 weeks. I've been booked for a growth scan tomorrow, what should I expect? Is it the same as any other scan? Also I haven't found out the sex of the baby as I want a surprise !! What will I see? I really don't want to be able to see the sex at the last hurdle!! Has anyone had a scan at 38 weeks? What did you see? I'm sure everything is ok with my bubba but I really don't want to see the sex or any giveaways my baby is back to back aswell...!Hmm

I had a scan the day before my baby was born. I just told them I didn’t know the gender so they told me when to look away. They measure baby’s head circumference, abdominal circumference and femur length and use all that to work out an estimated weight. My baby was born the next day and the estimation was only out by 50g

I had a scan at 38 weeks very recently. I advised the sonographer at the outset that I didn’t know the sex of the baby and that was fine. Surprise intact! Good luck OP hope all is well for you at your scan tomorrow.

When I had one it was just another scan and they take measurements as they go but you couldn't see much as the baby is so large by that point.

Good luck!

Thank you guys! My partner really wants to know what it is I’m hoping the baby is too big to notice anything! As I reckon he wouldn’t look away if the sonographer told us too 🙈

The sonographer asked us if we knew when we got in there. We didn't really see much of the baby because it takes a while to do all the measurements and it felt much more medical than the other scans we had.

Strange, my midwife said they aren’t concerned unless you’re more than 3cm either way so 36 would be fine at 38cm...

I really wouldn’t worry about it, I’ve been sent for a growth scan with all of my DC because I measured so far ahead. You can’t really see much at that stage, just looks like a big blur.
