I saw advertised a Lego building board, table and Lego. I thought £10 bargain, I'll get that and save it for camping this weekend as the table will be useful and it also stored Lego.

Description was, "Lego building table and box of Lego" with pics.

I messaged the seller and said I'd like to buy it and asked when would be convenient and her address. She replied saying she could deliver it. So I said ok, I'm about a 10 min drive but was happy to collect after school run etc.

So she dropped it off this morning and I paid and left it by the door. I've just gone to move/hide it to the outhouse with the camping gear and looked and it's all duplo.

I've messaged her saying, sorry I didn't realise it was duplo, my 5yo will not have any interest. I asked if there was anyone else interested and I can message them.

She replied really arsey saying there were clear pics and it's for her LBs holiday spending money and she really went out of her way to deliver. Also a few were interested but she's deleted the messages now.

I've replied saying lesson learnt I should have looked at the pics properly but it was advertised as Lego and not duplo and then I've asked for her address to return it.

Aibu?

I know it's only £10 but he wanted buckaroo and I said no as I was going to take this for him to play with whilst we set up, annoyingly that £10 would have paid for buckaroo.

Yabu...
Lego duplo is lego so she didn't incorrectly advertise is.
And if the pictures were there and you just didn't look at them, it is completely your fault.
Put it up for sale yourself.

Proseccoinamug · 22/05/2019 13:31

Sorry YABU. It is Lego. It’s Lego Duplo. If you didn’t look at the pics, that’s your fault.

outsho · 22/05/2019 13:33

YABU. Duplo is Lego and I prefer it because it doesn’t go up the vacuum...

WellErrr · 22/05/2019 13:35

YABU. Lesson learned, as you say. I’d just block you if I was her tbh.

babysharkah · 22/05/2019 13:36

It's lego Duplo, and FB marketplace.

And don't worry the new Buckaroo is SHITE.

TheInvestigator · 22/05/2019 13:40

Duplo is by Lego. People should say Lego Duplo or just Duplo, but she still wasn't wrong. And duploe building tables are quite clearly too big for Lego so you'd have noticed as soon as she handed it to you, or as soon as you looked at the pictures.

Why would she accept a return? She Is not a professional seller. No statutory rights and not right to a refund. Sell it again yourself. Your mistake, not hers.

SushiTime · 22/05/2019 13:41

@outsho very valid point Grin

Yep, I'm over it now. There's a lovely little brother at school who would like it so all is not lost.

Yabu becuase you didn't look at the pictures or check what type of Lego it was

LimeKiwi · 22/05/2019 14:12

YABU. On you for not looking at the pics properly.
Probably like me who has occasional clear outs of toys etc to raise a little bit of spending money when totally skint.
Nothing at all wrong with what you got, you just bought the wrong thing!
I'd have been upset too if it was my only spending money and you wanted it back as you didn't want the item anymore for no proper reason.
