Sort of Noisy Neighbour

Not in the tv / hammering way.

I have to be up at 5am each morning. I also sleep with the window open. Every night, around this time, the lady across the way insists on ringing the bell on her bicycle from the bottom of the street until hers (about half way up / 30 seconds). Even with the window closed it’s audible. I assume this is so her OH knows she’s nearly there. They usually stand and talk loudly outside for a while before going in. It’s either woken me up or it’ll happen just as I’m nodding off.

AIBU to ask her to not ding her bloody bell or am I being a dick?

You would not be unreasonable to ask her not to do that. She should respect other people's right to rest.

Just shout out the window, “some people are trying to sleep, do you mind keeping the noise down”, it’s what I usually do. Often works.

YANBU and she may not actually realise the impact she’s having on you. Fingers crossed it’ll be sorted without any bad feeling.
