2 missed periods and countless negative tests ? Help!

I gave birth to my daughter 6 months ago all natural delivery and everything was fine, ive had 2 periods since which were EXACTLY 32 day long cycles. However, now im on 78 days no period. Ive done about 7 tests all at different points throughout these 78 days and they are all flat out negative so im pretty sure i cant be pregnant again. The only other symptom im having is occasional period like cramps but no bleeding or spotting or any other symptom, is there a chance this is normal or might there be an underlying cause? Any advice will be greatly appreciated !

Are you breastfeeding?

Mumlife1 · 21/05/2019 22:59

Nope not breast feeding, or currently using any contraceptives other then condoms as i cant use hormonal birth control for health reasons :( .

Get your thyroid checked. Overactive thyroid can cause missed periods.

I don’t mean to worry you, but the hormones the pg tests pick up on are much more present in the early stages. If there is any chance you could have got of a few months ago and what presented as a period could be a bleed, I would visit the gp who will be able to refer for ultra sound if necessary.

Got pg, not got of.

See the GP and get a proper pregnancy test.

I dont think i would have missed it aqui. As i tested at the first missed period and that was still negative, i have booked an appointment but the earliest they had was in 3 weeks time :(

Congratulations re DD - you will get more sleep one day!

Definitely see your GP.

How are you in yourself? Sensitive to heat/cold, husky voice, constipated? Aside from feeling sleep deprived, can you think of any other changes. It might take a friend you don't see regularly to point out any physical changes. You might not notice them yourself, because they could have been very gradual.

Hope you get an answer OP.

Mumlife,
What meant was you could be much further along than that; if those were not periods but bleeds. This happened to a friend of mine who only found out she was pregnant at 7 months. This was soon after having a baby; they have quite a small gap. It’s not impossible, so have a think about other symptoms, even if you suffered a few months ago and it resolved.

Hopefully not, but your gp will be able to feel your uterus and have a good idea whether it is a possibility.

I’m really sorry you hVe to wait three weeks for an appointment. Can you phone up for a cancellation? My receptionists help if you persist.

Hi,
I’m in the exact same boat and really worried. I haven’t had a period for 3 months now and have taken pregnancy tests and they have all been negative, but I feel pregnant. I have a bloated tummy, sore boobs, headaches, nausea now and again and I feel so tired! Went to the doctors today and even they were confussed and have just sent me for bloods to check hormone levels.
I’m so worried now as I’m thinking could it be something so much worse then just a missed period.
Any advice or someone to talk to would be nice x
