AIBU to be upset by DM and childcare?

My DS will be 2 in the summer and is the only grandchild on both sides. My mum sees him every weeks but has not done any childcare bar 45 minutes when I had an interview and she pushed him around the block whilst I was in the building. She has not done any baby sitting, or ever had him on her own apart from those 45 minutes. Which is fine as he is my child and we pay for childcare every day I am at work. She has never offered and I have not asked. It has not been an issue as I do not expect her to do any childcare. However she has now heard about these NI contributions for grandparents providing care and started to raise it. I quickly shut it down by clarifying it was only £250/year and she moved on. AIBU to be upset that she would only seem to want to look after him if she is paid enough? To clarify she works 2 says a week.

Pretty shit of her to raise it just to get money out of it, yes. However I would just leave it since you're sorted anyway, and if she ever asks say that your DS is settled where he is so you don't want to disrupt that.

YANBU. However, it might be nice for her and your DS to spend some time together so why not leave it a bit and then ask her to look after him at some point for a few hours (unpaid, of course) just in case it wasn’t the money (sounds unlikely, but you never know).

I got an excited message from DM about this in the week, but she works full time and had already agreed to have DS one day a week with my brother's two. I think she thought she'd get £250 cash per child and had some hairbrained idea about using it to take them all away for a weekend with my poor DF 🤦🏻‍♀️
