Wibu to shove his power washer up his....

My neighbour has been out using his power washer since last Thursday 10am until 4pm I cannot escape the noise, my baby can’t nap for the noise. The neighbours dog is barking whenever it’s on just for added atmosphere.

For the most part he’s a very reasonable person but “won’t be told what to do” (his response when another neighbour asked him to give it a rest with the power washer). I know it’s day time and most people are at work (except here where most people are retired) but it’s relentless and I’m filling up with rage.

WIBU to shove his power washer up his arse and launch him into space?

What's he been power washing for five days?

Brilliant! Go for it, OP, when's take off? Wanna see this GrinGrinGrin

There's no patio on earth big enough to need 6 days of power washing. He's pissed off at you and passively aggressively re-washing his already-sparkling patio right next to your fence to punish you for something you've done.

ClaudiaWankleman · 21/05/2019 14:56

Images of flying coke bottle rockets in primary school abound.

It's annoying, but he isn't doing it at unsociable hours. Maybe go for a drive in the car to get the baby to sleep.

Agree though - what on earth is he power washing that has taken five days?

ThePerturbedPenguin · 21/05/2019 14:56

Yeah what's he power washing for that long?!

AriaFitz · 21/05/2019 14:57

He won’t be told what to do until he’s told to pay hundreds of quids worth of water bill Grin

UCOinanOCG · 21/05/2019 15:04

He must have a fucking huge patio!

StinkyWizleteets · 21/05/2019 15:13

He cleans his car every Thursday. It was his garage on Friday then he’s been cleaning the decking and fence since then. It’s not that big but by god he must be able to eat his dinner off it!

It doesn't take six hours to wash your car.Confused

nwybhs · 21/05/2019 15:14

Do you tiptoe round your house in the evenings? I'm surprised that your baby cannot sleep because of an external noise. Do you not flush your toilet in the evening, because that would be louder?

Vulpine · 21/05/2019 15:18

You must have a very powerful flush on your loo!

nwybhs · 21/05/2019 15:22

Well no but usually toilet flushing takes place inside the house whereas power washing is outside, so while the toilet is obviously quieter, it isn't muffled by external walls.

Vulpine · 21/05/2019 15:24

A flush takes seconds. Power washing noise for that long woukd drive me mad

mommybear1 · 21/05/2019 15:44

Can you send him to mine OP - for someone that dedicated I'd pay him to do my drive/car / decking and patio furniture Grin.

nwybhs · 21/05/2019 15:57

Power washing noise for that long woukd drive me mad

Indeed. But that wasn't the point of my post. It was regarding the baby being able to sleep, not the irritation of the time of noise.

StinkyWizleteets · 21/05/2019 18:38

No Bluntness it doesn’t take you 6 hours...

NWYBHS - you’ve clearly been blessed by a deep sleeper. I however have not and someone farts in the next town he wakes. So yes we do tiptoe around at night and we don’t flush the loo nearest the bedrooms either. The noise of this guy’s power washer can be heard in my other side neighbours furthest away room so clearly it’s noisy or our walls are made of cardboard.

It can take significantly longer, however only a very small portion of that would involve the power washer.

6hours!? If you're not double glazed that's gonna be loud IME. Is he a bored pensioner filling in time if it's daily? . The old gentleman near me would mow his teeny, tiny lawn for hours three times a week too.Drove me insane. Shove some senior social group/hobby leaflets thru the door?

DeathyMcDeathStarFace · 21/05/2019 19:40

Maybe he is cleaning his penis in the hope his wife is interested in giving him a bj.

Or cleaning his chicken bones before she makes some stock or cock-a-leekie soup.

(In case you don't get the reference there is a very funny thread about making stock and bjs and hygiene.)

One of my friends has severe OCD. Even he doesn’t spend six hours cleaning his car.

That’s nice, however car detailing has nothing to do with OCD. A good clean and protect will take me approx 12 hours and that’s not exactly considered excessive.

StoneofDestiny · 21/05/2019 21:55

12 hours? 😳
