To wonder what to do with my English democrat election flyer?

If I just pop it in an unstamped envelope and post it back, will they have to pay for insufficient postage?

Got one from UKIP too. Gives me the shivers.

Just be an adult, accept that we have freedom of speech and other people are allowed different opinions to you, and put it in the recycling.

Gigglinghysterically · 21/05/2019 12:06

Had to Google them to see who they are and what they stand for. I'd never heard of them.

Gigglinghysterically · 21/05/2019 12:10

Forgot to say, straight into the recycling along with all the others and the unsolicited fast food shop adverts.

SpringerLink · 21/05/2019 12:20

We have freedom of expression, not freedom from the consequences of our expression. If reading that makes you want to post it back in the hope of costing them money, then go right ahead and do that.

Everanewbie · 21/05/2019 12:43

Nothing like a bit of virtue signalling. I hate the right more! No me, I do, I wiped my arse on a UKIP flyer and sent it back to them!

I don't know anything about this lot, but unfortunately I'd guess they are similar ilk to BNP etc. If you don't like it then ignore it and vote for your preferred party and wear a smug smile safe in the knowledge that the English democrats wasted the cost of a flyer on you.

But replace 'English' with 'Welsh' or 'Scottish' and your first reaction would probably be different.

JQBased · 21/05/2019 12:45

Are you serious? How old are you? I tell you what, why don't you pop in the bin at the airport on your way to North Korea where freedom is probably more in line with what you prefer.

Chowmum · 21/05/2019 12:47

I considered letting the dogs eat it, but didn't want to poison them.

BishopBrennansArse · 21/05/2019 12:49

Send it back unstamped

Chowmum · 21/05/2019 12:49

There's a fine line between free speech and racism in this case.

Somerford · 21/05/2019 12:49

It's a fucking leaflet. The approval of anonymous lefties on the internet clearly means a lot to you but you'd have to be right odd ball to take the time to do all of that, photographing and posting it on mumsnet is bad enough. There's all sorts going on outside in the real world, go and have a look.

deplorabelle · 21/05/2019 12:50

I think posting it back only costs them money if the recipient accepts the post and pays up. Otherwise it's just cost borne by the postal service. It's why I haven't sent my BXP etc leaflet back. Unlikely to achieve anything as they aren't real political parties aiming to communicate with electorate long term.

Just recycle or line a hamster cage

BloodyDisgrace · 21/05/2019 12:51

Put it in the recycling and think of something nice instead.

BishopBrennansArse · 21/05/2019 12:53

If objecting to racist toilet paper makes me a lefty I’m proud of it. I am anyway, to be fair.

BasilFaulty · 21/05/2019 13:44

Quite right @bishopbrennansarse

ChesterDrawsDoesntExist · 21/05/2019 15:20

I live in Scotland and regularly get that wee fuckin Nippy Nichola Sturgeon's shite posted through my door. It gets filed straight into the wheelie bin. Especially if they're being handed out by the yellow clad anti-English supporters. They can watch me put it where it belongs.

The one I got through from an independent who stated on it that marriage should be for a man and a woman only and that they would campaign for a return to proper Christian values and a change of law, well that one got posted back to them, postage unpaid.

BrexitBingoGenerator · 21/05/2019 15:48

Loving the posts from people accusing me of virtue signalling and then themselves virtue signalling in defence of free speech Grin.

I don’t dispute the fact that the English Democrats can choose believe in ‘English values, English culture and English history in our schools’ if they really think that’s the most constructive way of running the country, but I do object to them sending twatty leaflets to my house- if that makes me a candidate for shipment to North Korea then so be it, I guess.

I don’t fancy making a bother for the postal service, so recycling box it is then!
