I’m a nurse. Looking after an infectious patient.
I’m head to toe in a plastic gown with a plastic face mask and eye visor.

I’m melting. Even my arms are wet with sweat, I can’t tell you how uncomfortable I am. Face visor is constantly fogged up.

I’m on a quick break.
I’ve voiced my discomfort into deaf ears. Nobody gets it!! No one understands how horrendous this is.

Pffft. Angry
Onwards through the night I sweat!
I shall be melted by morning.

You poor thing. I get it. I don't wear anything heavy now. Thin layers and many times a day I'm whipping the top one off.

You're doing a fantastic thing looking after this poor patient. Try and focus on that.

You poor thing! Ugh that must be horrendous! Still, I imagine it’s the only way if they’re infectious.
You are a saint!
Bet you can’t wait for a cool shower!

lljkk · 19/05/2019 22:40

The Ebola teams would get it. Imagine it's 35 degrees out & you can never take a proper shower.

crosser62 · 19/05/2019 22:42

LOL Ebola! Yes that is worse than my situation but it’s still bloody horrible... Sad

Been there done that, besides retiring ASAP, is there a shower in the staff change room? Change uniform regularly (get stuff from the OR).

Hotterthanahotthing · 19/05/2019 22:47

I get it.Many a fridge in our department has patient wash wipes in for us memo women.

Hotterthanahotthing · 19/05/2019 22:48

I second taking time out for a shower in your situation.

MitziK · 19/05/2019 22:51

Poor you.

But I'd guess it's not the greatest of nights for the patient, either. I think I'd rather be working in a centrally heated binbag than be the person who needs a 1-2-1 nurse dressed as though she's hoping you aren't Patient Zero in the Zombie Apocalypse.

You poor poor thing doing a wonderful job. Menopause sweats are the worst, I can’t imagine having one and then having to swathe myself in plastic. You have my utmost respect. Hopefully it won’t be for too long. Thank you for keeping us all healthy at your own expense. Respect.

Ahhh living the love coming my way from you all Flowers
I have a most lovely patient who says that she understands my plight.
Makes it 100% easier that I’m looking after a wonderful lady Smile
