to ask for some advice?

I have been unhappy in my job for a while, but I've finally been offered a job elsewhere. I've handed my notice in and due to start end of June. I've signed the contract and everythibg.

Typically, jobs are like buses, they all come at once. An ex-colleague has got in touch with me to ask if I would be interested in a job where she works. It's £3k more than the job I've been offered, a week more holiday, better hours, nearer home, and a big, probably more secure, company. The only downside is it may not be as 'fun' as the job I've been offered.

I don't know what to do - should I interview for the second job? Or just count my lucky stars I've been offered the other job, and get on with it?

No harm in going for the interview. They might not offer you a job. If you don't go, you'll never know.

What makes you think the first job will be fun and the second one not? Is it the type of work, the company, colleagues? The second job sounds much better unless the culture/environment is really poor

Go for the second job. If you’re offered it, you can then decide which you prefer. I don’t think you should let the fact you’ve already “taken” the first one affect your decision - sure, it may be inconvenient if employer #1 has to re-advertise, but I’m sure they’d understand, especially if you let them know asap and are apologetic.

If you got offered the second job, you'd just let the first one know and they'd offer it to the next person on their short list. No sweat!

Definitely go for the interview and see whether you can see yourself in the post if they do offer you the job. You can always turn one down, either one.

Definitely interview. I declined a similar offer years ago and will always regret it.
