I fear they will. Who else is there?

@StoorieHoose & @ArabellaDoreenFig

And yet lots of comments in this thread are about 'anyone but Corbyn' implying that the reason for not voting for the local labour representative is who would become prime minister as a result

StoorieHoose · 20/05/2019 07:24

I tend to read the anyone but Corbyn as really meaning anyone but Labour. That just me though

SeeSpotRun · 20/05/2019 07:36

I've seen so many posts along the lines of "I will not vote labour while Corbyn is in charge' over the last few years, that I have the impression that it is the man not the party that a lot of people object to.

“I tend to read the anyone but Corbyn as really meaning anyone but Labour. That just me though“

I don’t think that’s true- for some reason Corbyn seems to outrage people personally in a way I find baffling. I am a life long labour supporter, and I think he is an ineffectual and divisive leader I’d be glad to see the back of,but I don’t get the personal animosity.

Xerxessa · 20/05/2019 12:28

Yes, I have no idea what Corbyn is actually like or whether he would make a good prime minister. But there are so many people out there who believe he is the Antichrist that he seems to be unelectable. That in itself makes him the wrong leader for a political party.

And as a knock-on effect, the Conservatives have been able to get away with SO MUCH SHIT and still stay (just about) in power, because so many people believe there is no electable opposition.

Xerxessa · 20/05/2019 12:44

Of course I blame the Conservatives for all the so-called "austerity" cuts and the general current mess. But I also blame Corbyn for not stepping down, and the Labour Party for not replacing him.

Whether or not his unpopularity is justified, it's an undoubted fact, and one which has allowed this situation to develop as it has.

AlaskanOilBaron · 20/05/2019 12:49

In what way precisely?

How about Labours plan to transfer company stock to employees or nationalise the countries energy sectors?

If you’re ok with asset seizure, then it’s fine, I suppose?

BertrandRussell · 20/05/2019 13:28

I don’t have a problem with renationalization, if that’s what you mean.....

AlaskanOilBaron · 20/05/2019 13:34

Was my post unclear? I gather that's a bit of pedantry there? Wink My phone autocorrected it.

I'd love to know where you think this is working well, and whether you'd like the shareholders to be paid market value.

SeaWitchly · 20/05/2019 13:56

There are also many people who vote for Labour because of Corbyn.

I truly cannot understand how anyone could prefer Boris as prime minister after the complete cock up he was as foreign minister.

Patroclus · 20/05/2019 14:25

errm cos you were talking about Tump?

Dragongirl10 · 20/05/2019 14:59

PATROCLUS...not me l didn't mention Trump...maybe another poster.

Fiveredbricks · 20/05/2019 16:34

@SeeSpotRun oh no... It's also Momentum most object to, and JC is their poster boy.
